The Meeting Point for your The Whiskey Trail is: Flavour Trails, Unit 2b is on the lower ground floor of Powerscourt Towncenter. Come up the Georgian Steps on South William St, pass through the flower shop, walk by the oak staircase and down the next set of step and we are to your left.

Set out to the first stop of the tour, Darky Kelly's, a traditional Irish venue, where you learn more about the history of Irish whiskey and get your first taste of the classic tipple. During your tour, visit up to several more venues and sample different whiskey varieties, as your guide explains what makes each one unique.

My husband and I joined this tour after landing in Dublin and it was such a lovely way to get our trip started! Adam was our tour guide, and he was absolutely spectacular — very knowledgeable and personable. He also did a wonderful job setting the tone for the tour experience. We toured on a Saturday, with made for quite a busy pub experience. However, each stop was very prepared for us and had a section reserved for our tastings. We’ve done quite a few food/drink tours during our travels, and this one easily surpassed our other experiences. We quickly became friends with our fellow tour mates and will not soon forget our experience on this tour.

Our experience was ‘top shelf’ from beginning to end!! Our guide was so engaging and knowledgable. She literally made the tour a highlight of our trip!! We learned about Irish whiskeys and background stories on several distilleries. The accompanying food was great too! We highly recommend. We will definitely be taking the food tour provided by this guide on our next visit to Dublin!!

Great tour with a uber-knowledgeable guide Irish and whisky history. You don’t need to be a connoisseur nor particularly enjoy whisky to have a great time. It takes one to quirky and special local pubs, away from the tourists.

Gráinne was such a knowledgeable guide and she was so much fun. She broke down the history of whiskey and made it extremely entertaining. I learned a lot and got to see some really cool spots. Highly recommend this tour to learn about whiskey and Dublin! Gráinne was a great guide that spent time with our group going through the history of whiskey and how different types of whiskey taste. Great snacks along the way at each of the pubs. Takes a little bit of effort to find the starting spot, so give yourself an extra few minutes to explore the building before the tour. I have done many food & drink tours around the world and this one is one the best I have been on.

Grainne (our tour guide) not only taught us about the history of whiskey, but she also shared with us a ton of tips about where to go and what to do while in Dublin, as well as how to continue our own exploration of whiskey beyond the tour. I enjoyed the variety that this particular tour offered, stopping at multiple local pubs for our tastings, so that we got to not only taste the whiskey but some appetizers at each establishment as well. As a solo traveler, I loved the small size of our tour group, as we all had plenty of time to ask Grainne questions as well as chat with one another about where we were from and what had brought us to Dublin. This, as well as the Irish Food Trail Walking Tour of Dublin (with Sean), was my favorite tour I did while visiting Ireland.

Our tour guide, Gráinne, was cracking!! None of us were whiskey drinkers and three of four didn’t grimace at the tastings. She is knowledgeable and made whiskey so approachable while educating us on the history of whiskey and the Irish culture. If you go on this tour make sure to ask her where she got her glasses and you’ll become a crack dealer yourself. In short, we had fun, loved our experience and would highly recommend this tour while in Dublin.

Very enjoyable tour to learn about whiskey and have food in three excellent pubs. Guide was extremely knowledgeable and there are six different whiskeys to try. Be sure to get there early to check out beautiful historic home and local stores in the center.

This was an excellent experience that included locations we would not have found on our own and guide Johnny has a knowledge base that is quite impressive. We chose the Dublin Deluxe option and found the cheeses, breads, etc. to be quite good and a welcome addition to the overall experience. Each pub was ready for our arrival and the interaction between guide Johnny and the pub staff suggested a very good relationship. The food was good enough at one pub that we chose to have lunch there the next day and the whiskey tasting broadened my interests enough that I bought a bottle of our favorite from the night at the duty free store on our trip home.

My wife and I chose to do the Deluxe Dublin Whiskey Tasting Tour and can say it was absolutely brilliant. We both like whiskey, well, drinking it at least but don't know too much more than that. This tour catered towards our inquisitive minds and lack of knowledge perfectly. The tour guide, Broana, a young local Dubliner, who had spent a few years with Jamesons acquiring knowledge, was just that, knowledgeable, personable and a good laugh to boot.
The tour takes you to three different venues in Central Dublin all three of which we elected to revisit during our stay. Each stop had two whiskey tastings with food matched against the whiskeys. Each stop provided something different in terms of the style of whiskey, the experience and what the guide wanted us to get from each drink. It was such a great experience for novices likes us, although I know that Broana lowered her level of expertise to match our lack of experience. I could easily imagine a much more well versed group getting more than we did out of the tour but we assure you, next time we return that will be us!
Overall it was just a great experience and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone that either loves their whiskeys, wants to learn more about them or simply wants to get to know a few cool places in what is a great city!!
