What a wonderful evening! Habib messaged me and arranged the pickup spot, and then we met the other travelers at the boat. Habib and the other crew took us on a lovely hour-ish sunset cruise and saw the West Bay buildings and World Cup monument. The light was beautiful, the weather was perfect, and the boat itself was really nice. We could sit on the main deck or the upper deck, and they gave us waters and played music and helped take pictures. I’m so glad I did this tour and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Doha.

Great way to see the Doha skyline at night and get some good photos with the city skyline as the backdrop. Noor was a good guide and was helpful for taking photos. Trip had some historic info. but was not the focus of the trip.

Stressful start

I reached out to our guide (as he hadn’t confirmed our hotel pickup point in advance (and the map pin provided was inaccessible by car). We walked around for 20+ minutes trying to find our ride until we realized that we would miss our Dhow departure without a ride to the boat. I dropped a pin of my location and was finally picked up by the driver - who then blamed me for choosing a hotel that had no car access. The Dhow ride was pleasant, the views and sunset pretty. The hot tea and dates served to us was a nice touch. (But the overall mood had been spoiled by a very stressful start).

The tour was good. But when I booked it from USA using VIATOR, I selected HOTEL PICKUP AND DROPOFF and paid it. But when I reached here, I was told to pay 100 Qatar Riyals for hotel pickup and DROPOFF. Though I paid it but I am very disappointed that I had to pay twice. Is it a fraud?

Upon arrival, you requested hotel pickup instead, which is an optional service and therefore charged 100 QAR, and this was explained before proceeding. We’re sorry for any confusion and appreciate your understanding. We recommend checking the selected tour option and inclusions carefully at the time of booking.

A comedy of errors but alls well that ends well.

Our booking was for 5pm and so we spent the afternoon sightseeing. While doing this we received a text message that the driver would collect us at 3.40pm. I said to cancel the boat cruise but they sent a taxi to collect us. The driver had no idea of where he was to drop us off but in the end we found the boat and had our cruise. I should say that it was quite cold out on the water.

The guide and the company for this tour were FABULOUS. The cruise itself was a bit meh. I had requested a 5pm pick-up to catch the sunset, but the guide messaged me and kept changing the time (4.40pm … 4.50pm … then at 5pm he was at the wrong hotel … and finally arrived to pick me up around 5.10pm). I was driven to the dhow harbor in a private car, arriving 15 minutes later. It turned out to be just 4 passengers plus my guide and the captain on the dhow … and we were off sailing about 5 minutes later. My guide (Habib) was fantastic, always looking out for his guests and making sure they had everything they needed, including answers to any questions … he was always smiling and always present (10 out of 5 stars for him!), which was very impressive. The “cruise” itself was a bit meh — it was 50 minutes long and we sailed out toward West Bay and then just sat there in the bay for a bit, waiting for the sunset………I guess it’s rare you’ll get a really good sunset in Qatar most days (not the fault of the cruise!), considering there aren’t really any clouds! But we did get to go out to the FIFA World Cup statue, which I had only seen from afar, so that was pretty cool! Almost like sailing around the Statue of Liberty in New York City. Awesome seeing so many boats out in the harbor at the same time, and the music definitely added to the vibe.

We opted for the hotel pickup. We were contacted the afternoon of our evening trip and were picked up on time. Taken straight to the boat for the trip. Nice 1 hour cruise around the bay with plenty of photos taken.

Sunset Dhow Cruise

Cruising after 6pm is best time to see all the buildings lit up. You have to choose between sunset or the lighted skyscrapers. We did sunset cruise at 5:15pm and saw sunset.

Doha at sunset

The pick up from my hotel was in a air conditioned car. WhatsApp communication about the time. Habib was the guide on the boat and was happy to answer questions about Qatar. He was friendly and offered to take photos of me as I was by myself and other passengers. The boat had an upper deck which was windy but good for views and photos. It was good to see the changes from the old Doha to the very modern skyscrapers especially as sunset approached and the lights came on. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Was lovely views and the company was relaxed and friendly. If you are interested in the vessels and the views, it’s worth a ticket.

Fun and chill activity

The excursion was very nice. Waseem and Habeeb were great and gave us a recommendation for a local restaurant after at the main Souq and dropped us off there. Everything went smooth from pick up to drop off. Water was provided. The boat ride was beautiful at night and the temperature was more pleasant. Waseem and Habeeb also helped take photos of us on the upper deck, which was helpful. This is a good excursion for anyone that has a layover, wants a chill activity day or wants to do something in the day then have something in the night to do.

Great experience in Doha, beautiful views and an opportunity to see the city a new angle. The company was good, and pick up went smoothly. Waseen was very friendly and made sure we had a good time and was very helpful with photos etc. I only have one suggestion for you guys, I love that at the beginning you played music from your culture, there was no need to play English speaking songs afterwards, as a visitor I truly appreciate getting involved and experience the culture of the place I'm going to, no need to listen the music I have back home, we understand why you think it might please the customer but believe me we enjoyed your music in that particular moment much more.

Guys they picked me up from my hotel and asked if I would like to be dropped off back there or somewhere else. They toke my photos on the boat as I did the tour alone. It was a smooth ride offered water and moving around the boat. Very cute I missed the sunset tour and was pushed to the night tour which worked out better for me!!!
