A Titanic Overview and So Much More!

Cynthia_R, May 2026
We were so lucky to have Dennis as our guide—a true ambassador of Cobh. He provided a wonderful overview of not only the history of the Titanic and its link to Cobh, but as a lifelong Cobh resident, he was able to weave in stories of a bygone time in Irish history. He told us one story of a fishing trip he had taken with his father and brother and from the boat, only being able to see the cross on Cobh’s church. He explained how his father told he and his brother that that sight was likely the last thing immigrants saw as they left their native Ireland for the new world. It, as well as do many of his stories, were extremely moving.

Really interesting tour, super guide!

Pamelajay_S, Feb 2026
What an amazing experience we have had today! We were running a bit late, but messaged the operator who let our tour guide (Dennis) know when to expect us. Dennis was so welcoming when we got there, he knew us by name and made us feel so calm after we had been stressing a little bit! Dennis’s knowledge of the local area (he is a local lad after all!), the Titanic, and the Lusitania was comprehensive and he really brought it all alive for us with a mixture of facts and anecdotes. We would 100% recommend both the tour and Dennis to everyone we know, and are already planning our return trip to beautiful Cobh

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you so much for your kind words and positive remarks. We are so pleased you enjoyed the tour so much.

Excellent Tour Guide

Nicholas_H, Nov 2025
Donagh was an excellent guide full of knowledge and extremely Friendly, he takes you on a tour of Victorian Times, medieval times and the history of The Titanic and the hardship that Ireland suffered throughout that era. I would 100 percent recommend this tour to anyone wanting to know the history of Cobh or Cove as Donagh explained.

Short But Sweet

Lori_C, Jul 2025
If looking for a short one hour tour that highlights the basics of Cobh and the Titanic, this tour is for you. Our guide was accommodating and shared high-level info about immigration, Spike Island, the Titanic and the Lusitania. Nice intro to Cobh!

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Thank you for your very kind comments. We are so appreciative that you took the time to post such a positive review. Glad you enjoyed it !!

Poor Guide

Carol_J, Jul 2025
Tour guide was very poor. He spoke very softly in one direction without a microphone which was very difficult for the entire tour group to hear and understand. He didn’t point out several of the monuments that were on the wall and what they meant. We were very disappointed. We had to learn through local people that we met on the street after his poorly guided tour that we paid for.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Very sorry to receive your comments. It seems everyone else on the tour was very happy with the guide and the content.

Good tour!

Matthew_A, Jun 2025
Catherine was lovely, and the tour was very interesting. It was very hard to hear her much of the walking tour, which would be our only complaint. Otherwise, it was a very worthwhile hour-and-a-half, and on the whole, we would recommend this tour.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Thank you for your feedback, it is important for us. So pleased you enjoyed the tour

Titanic Walking Tour

Teresa_W, May 2025
It's a hilly walk that also includes more than a talk about the Titanic. The village of Cobh and surrounding areas. We found it fascinating. Our guide, Catherine, was fantastic.

True history about the Titanic.

Dawn_W, Apr 2025
If you want to know the true history of the Titanic and Cobh, this tour is for you. The tour guide was a true historian and also a good sense of humor.

Response from Host, May 2025

You could barely hear the guide with all the background noise.

Alice_A, Oct 2024
It could be better if the guide spoke up. And she left abruptly at the end. Not what I expected, unfortunately.

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Sorry to hear that the street noise interfered with the quality of your tour. We endeavour to avoid noisy locations but it is not always possible on very busy days in the town.

A walking tour that is worth your time

David_C, Oct 2024
Interesting and informative tour of Cobh. Our guide was very knowledgeable and told us about his past. We even saw some of his family along the way! Very cute little boy! We learned a lot about the Titanic, Cobh and its history and important people of the past. He had recommendations for local spots and eateries. Highly recommend this.

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Thank you for your very positive review, we are so pleased you enjoyed the tour so much

A great guide. Awful weather.

Michael_W, Oct 2024
Our choice of a walking tour wasn’t the best idea on the day. It rained and rained and the wind blew. We got soaked and cold. If it wasn’t for our excellent guide Dennis; who’s personable nature, Irish charm and encyclopaedic knowledge which kept us going, we’d have dropped out mid way. We finished with a walk to the cathedral and view of the bay. Highly recommend.

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Thank you so much for your very positive comments. We always say a bit of rain can't spoil the magnificence of the town and harbour.

Preserving the past to enrich the future

Chris_H, Sep 2024
Catherine provided her local experience to help reflect on the Titanic history and the memorials to the victims of the Titanic and the Lusitania. She loves to chat and share many insights. A nice addition was receiving the booklet by Michael Martin to compliment the Titanic Trail walking tour.

Response from Host, Sep 2024

We are so pleased you enjoyed the tour and thank you so much for the kind review.

Excellent overview of this town!

Lea_C, Aug 2024
We were in Cobh on a cruise stop and had booked this tour so we could have an overview of this small seaside town and its history regarding the Titanic and other historical happenings. The meeting point is very close to the port, so maybe a five minute walk to the Commodore hotel. Dennis was there and ready for us, we had approximately eight people in our group and we set about on a tour that was just a little over an hour in length. He is very passionate about his town and spent some time covering not only the Lusitania sinking of a passenger ship by a German U-boat torpedo in World War I, but also the fact that the city was the last stop the Titanic made to pick up passengers before their fated journey across the sea to the US. The tour ends up at the cathedral, which is also a passion of Dennis’ and he gives great history on the people who play the bells as well as the history of the bishop. It’s an absolutely stunning church. Highly recommend this tour if you wish to stay near the ship while you are on a cruise tour. Please note that the train station is right at the port so if you wish to go into cork, it is only a 24 minute train ride away. Easy to do this tour and a trip to Cork.

Response from Host, Aug 2024

Thank you so much for such an informative, positive and detailed review. we are delighted with your recommendation.

Titanic Must Do Walking Tour

Deborah_H, Jun 2024
Dennis was an excellent guide. He was so knowledgeable on the Titanic and people that left from Cobh. He also had a lot of information on the sinking of the Carpathia. This is a must do walking tour when in Cobh.

Good Guide/Poor Audio System

Cecilia_G, May 2024
The guide was very knowledgeable but unfortunately we couldn't hear what he saying most the time, especially when we were walking between stops. Also, this tour was supposed to include admission to the museum but it wasn't open. Maybe you should give a refund/reduction to us for this tour!

Great again

Doug_S, May 2024
We first took this tour 2 years ago with Maureen and wanted take it again with her, but Dennis led our group. Both were great. You will like this simple but informative walking tour. It is hilly though up to the cathedral.

Response from Host, Jun 2024

Thank you so much for taking our tours and making them a part of your visit to Cobh. All of our guides deliver the passion they feel for this amazing town.

Wonderful Walking Tour of Cobh

caroline_C, Sep 2023
Dennis was an amazing local tour guide! He was so knowledgeable about historic events such as the Titanic and the Lusitania! He brought these events to life with the aid of photos, monuments and answering participants’ questions! In addition, he injected some humor into the walk with his personalized stories. I have two words of advice. Book Him! You won’t be sorry.

Response from Host, Sep 2023

Thank you for your kind words and praise for our tour and our guide.
