Fantastic day, enjoyed it immensely. Straight up hard trek to start with rewards you with fabulous views, some great villages and best of all a Michelin star bamboo lunch. The guides are fun and informative all the way.

Best trekking experience we have done . A great adventure , food was very tasty and very authentic. James , Watt and Sam were very hospitable and fun. The only thing I would say to be aware of if you are nervous of dogs that there are a lot on the trek. However, they were not interested in the you just the other dogs .

This was a great day of hiking, sometimes quite challenging as we partly climbed up a mountain stream bed in the jungle. We learnt so much about the rural environment and the lives of the inhabitants of the villages we passed through. Sami and Wat were mines of information, demonstrating rural skills with bamboo, one of which was the preparation of a delicious lunch. Both guides were great fun, intent on ensuring that we all had a great and safe time while experiencing the wild. Thoroughly recommend this day out, but be sure to dress warmly for the first 30 minutes when you will be riding in the back of a pick-up, fully exposed to the early morning cold!

We were lucky and had a tour group of just two. Eat was a great guide and had a great sense of humour and great English. The bush cooked meal using bamboo was delicious. I would highly recommend this company.

Just finished this fantastic day and can’t recommend highly enough. Our guides, James (Bond), Wat (see you tomorrow) & Tee were terrific from start to finish and having Loong the dog leading the way, as well as the guys brilliant humor was great for moral during some tough hill climbs. These guys really did make the entire day so much fun! Wear comfortable, good shoes, cover up against the elements, use insect repellent and carry plenty of water. This is a tour that gives a truly authentic taste of rural Thailand. With bamboo jungles, rubber/pineapple/tea/corn plantations, local friendly villages, gorgeous happy children, dogs & free ranging chickens galore, the day was jam packed. The views are spectacular. Experiencing the unique and clever way they prepared and cooked our feast for lunch as well as all the utensils was so cool. But for me, sitting under the waterfall, looking up at the leaves gently falling down around us in the beautiful forest will be an image I will remember for ever. I left feeling a deep appreciation for Thailand that I hope everyone gets the chance to experience. The sense of achievement as you’re passing through the country heading home, having met new friends and having made some incredible memories is well worth the effort.

Wat was a great tour guide! We had so much fun and was an experience we shall never forget.
Cooking in the jungle was incredible! And his dog, 'Long' accompanied us the whole way!

Very memorable experience in total. Banana trees, different plants and animal, very experienced guide who explains a lot
Best to wear long trousers and bring enough bug repellent ;)

This tour is not for the faint-hearted or unfit! You are walking though the jungle/mountains for at least 10km, through dense vegetation, muddy areas and unstable footing with steep drops. I consider myself fairly fit and it was a challenge, especially in the heat & I did slip over a few times. Our tour guide Aryu made this an amazing experience, being from the hill tribes himself and also speaking English very well. He was funny and gave us so much interesting information. At the start of the trek he made all of us crowns/headwear from leaves, and then also bamboo cups and chopsticks as keepsakes and to also use for lunch. These little touches made the experience even better. Lunch itself was amazing, getting to watch omelettes, soup and rice be cooked in bamboo over a fire. It tasted delicious and was one of the best meals we have had in Thailand (or maybe we were just super hungry after the trek, ha ha!).
Swimming in the waterfall was fun, but it is very shallow so you can’t ‘swim’ as such. Was nice to cool down after a lot of walking. We got to walk through some villages without any ‘shopping’ being imposed on us which was a nice change. To end the day, we got to spend some time at the hot springs in a couple of small baths (2-3 people in each one). There is a larger pool but it was closed for cleaning. Still enjoyed it thoroughly as a way to soak our sore muscles from the trek! The starting point was only 30-45mins from Chiang Rai so not a lot of travel either side of the day. The only criticism was that we underestimated how much water we would need to take for the trek and didn’t have enough. Water needs to be supplied during lunch as a top-up, or at least let travellers know to take a min of 2L each. It’s a very hot and sweaty day and easy to get dehydrated. The overheads for this tour would be low apart from insurance and fuel, so our concern is that the guide gets paid very little out of what we get charged, when they are essentially ‘the tour’ and make the day! Thank you Aryu for an experience we will never forget :)
