Not a vineyard, nor even a winery, just a wine bar, where a harassed and tired sommelier was attempting to run at least 3 different tasting sessions at the same time, but which had started at different times. He was therefore rushed off his feet and, in the one and half hours we were there, he must have spent an aggregate 10 minutes attending to us. Very few tasting notes, no pairing notes and we were merely served olive oil, dry bread, a couple of cherry tomatoes (from a fridge) and a little feta (dispensed from a tupperware container) so not very stylish... The poor guy was so tired that he did not even attempt to sell any of us any wine!
Suggest going elsewhere on the island if you are looking for a more informative and classy experience on a wine tour/tasting.

We take great pride in our hospitality, and it is clear that on this occasion, we fell short of the personal, informative experience we strive to provide.
To clarify for future guests, we are indeed a boutique working winery—our wines are produced right here in Avithos, from our own vineyards around the island. We apologize if the ‘behind-the-scenes’ nature of our tasting space felt more like a bar than the vineyard experience you were looking for.
Regarding the service, we aim to give every guest our full attention. We clearly hit a peak time where our host was stretched too thin, and we are currently reviewing our booking slots to ensure this doesn't happen again. As for our pairings, we choose to serve simple, authentic local products—like our own olive oil and local cheese—to keep the focus on the wine, but we appreciate your feedback on the presentation.
We would love the chance to welcome you back for a much more relaxed and 'classy' session on us in the future. Please reach out to us directly if you return to Kefalonia.
