Walking through the nature reserve with an enthusiastic guide was a great experience. We were lucky to find a whole family of musk oxes already after a nice walk. Finding a good observation spot in a distance showing respect to the wild animals offered chances for taking pictures and getting information about these fascinating animals. Our guide also offered some hot drinks and cinnamon rolls. On the way back we met another couple of musk oxes. I would really recommend walking with a local guide - makes a great difference to just reading about the wildlife around.

I had such a wonderful day - great guide, great group and a wonderful location. The meeting point, timings, the giving of information and the sightings were all “spot on”. A Memorable Day.

It was a perfect walk with a very welcomed guide. Nice group, not too big and good information about the animals and national park

As a solo-traveller it was easy to get in touch with otheres in the group and the guides. Our guides Ida and Hannes (or Johannes?) were great and knew so much about musk oxen, plants and stuff about the region over all. One of the best guidence i've expirienced so far. You really get much closer to the animals and never feel unsave. For me the hike was quite easy but i saw others truggle a little to keep up because their condition not because it was to fast ;). Super nice bringing Cinamon Buns and Coffee with you for the break.
A tour for anyone interessted in nature and hiking and dont mind rain or a muddy trail. Might be comming back in Wintertime for some crisper pictures and going up there with skis.

We had a wonderful time on the musk ox hike! The landscape was stunning, and we really appreciated the respectful and knowledgeable guidance throughout the tour. We were lucky to spot a musk ox and had the chance to observe it calmly from a distance – truly a special and moving moment.
We also learned more about the natural environment, which added real depth to the experience. I highly recommend this trip to anyone who enjoys wildlife, hiking, and being surrounded by raw, quiet nature.
Thank you for this unforgettable day!

My girlfriend and I went to this safari looking for some hiking, fun, and enjoying nature.
We ended up having one of our most beautiful experiences in a mountain ever, very well handled by Emily and Kaspar. As there was too many people, they splitted us in two groups, so we were lead by Kaspar, a funny and dedicated man that introduced us to the beauty of Norweigian mountains, Biology of the animals that live there and Viking's culture, all mixed up in a light and unforgettable memory.
In summary, I absolutely recommend this experience for a couple's/friend's/family's plan.

We started with a larger group, which was then split in two (I think it was about 15 people in each group). During the walk, our guide stopped every now and then to let us change clothes if necessary (the weather can change quite quickly in the mountains) or to tell us something about the plants and animals in the area. Once he spotted the muskoxen he guided us off the path, and we had lunch in view of them. Coffee and tea was provided here, as well as a telescope through which we could see the oxen. After lunch the two groups were reunited and we hiked up the mountain to get closer to the animals. Some people were faster climbers than others but this wasn't a problem. We had plenty of time to see the muskoxen (there were 6, one of which was a young) and to take photographs. We also got cinnamon buns here, which were very good. When we hiked back down the mountain, one guide went up front and the other waited for the people who weren't as fast. We were among the last three families, and even as we went back down the guide provided interesting insight into the local flora and fauna. He was very open to questions about the wildlife and nature in the area, but also on other topics.
Some people in my family had done this safari before, and they had gotten closer then than we got now (about 200 meters then, this time it was about 800 meters), but that's a matter of luck.
Overall it was a very nice experience and I would love to do this again some time!

Views were amazing! The team of professionals that managed the trip and took care of the guest were extremely knowledgeable; kind; had great senses of humor; and had great enthusiasm for what they do.
It was refreshing to be in their presence! Thank you to the guide who allowed me to wear his jacket and shared his love of flora as well as for the Ox. We appreciated learning how plant, animal, and land, correlated with each other.
This was such an enriching experience! My adult son and I will cherish this moment for life!

Hike in beautiful scenery. The very committed guides provided information about the landscape, climate, botany, and wildlife throughout the entire hike. Their own enthusiasm was palpable.

Great trip, with a guide who could tell everything that was worth knowing about the fauna on Dovre.
We had only walked 10 minutes before the first 2 mosquitoes showed up.
These we could follow at good distance for about 3-4 hours.
Several showed up along the way.
Totally magical!
