Book it. I was on an 11 stop/24 day cruise and this was MY FAVORITE experience. Chamsi, my host was beyond gracious. We went to an incredible market. There of course was a limit in what I could carry home! I'm still crying. But I did buy wonderful items. Then to this fancy French/Moroccan bakery! It was so good. THEN the main event! Cooking together at her beautiful home. Welcoming, relaxing & stimulating with conversation. We had a feast. Wedding chicken (so good - i have recipe) also a beautiful smoked eggplant & tomato spread. Plus plus plus other wonderful local accompaniments. Bravo & thank you so much Chamsi!!

Wonderful time with Chamsi. She’s very engaging and we’ve found a new friend. We spent the morning shopping in a Casablanca market greeting various vendors - fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs, meats, eggs, bakery and wine. We assisted in the preparation and enjoyed it immensely. Upon arriving at the drop off point for return to our cruise the shuttle attendee asked about our adventure. When we described it he said, “what a quality and fun day YOU has!” We couldn’t agree more! Thanks, Chamsi. Sam (I am) and Lara

The Best Thing in Casablanca

If you only have time to do one thing in Casablanca, Cooking with Chamsi is an excellent choice. The trip to the local market to get the ingredients for our meal was unique and not a place where tours usually go. Chamsi was charming and share so much about cooking, life in Morocco, and her personal story. Cooking was interactive and the results were so delicious that it set a very high standard. We look forward to trying the recipes that she shared when we return home. Also a plus was the hotel pick up and drop off which made the whole experience stress free. We loved the time we spent with Chamsi.

This was an amazing experience. Chamis and her family were delightful. Going to the market for the ingredients and swing all the produce was worthwhile. Learn a lot about Moroccan food. The meal was excellent and the conversation with Chamis and her husband was informative and interesting. I will recommend the to any of my friends who visit Morocco.

What a great way to start our vacation in Morocco! We selected this cooking class based on internet reviews and am glad to pass along our experience. We were met at our hotel by Chamsi who immediately engaged us with her love and enthusiasm for all things Morocco. We had a great time shopping with her at the local market and we were encouraged to smell spices, sample local dates and nuts, watch her select all of the fresh local produce, and we selected the protein. For us it was shrimp for appetizers and chicken for the main dish. Within a few hours of cooking, she made us feel more like family than guests. The meal was “over the top” delicious and the wine was perfect. She blended all of the seasonings and it seemed like all of our tastebuds were firing at once. Five stars for this young lady and a repeat visit by us if we return to Morocco!

This was the BEST part of our entire trip to Morocco, and Chamsi could not have been more helpful and welcoming. She met us at our hotel and headed through Ramadan traffic to the market. It was a truly immersive experience as we shopped for the things we needed for lunch. We even picked out things we wanted for dessert, which was awesome. Back at her house, we felt welcome and involved in everything. Lunch and our conversation were wonderful. We needed to leave a bit early, and she was very accommodating to our revised schedule. I highly recommend her for this tour and class.

My tour with Chamsi was absolutely the best way to start my holiday in Casablanca. Prior to the tour Chamsi and I communicated by email and WhatsApp and it was very clear of the pick up arrangements and my food preferences. The market tour was excellent. Chamsi and her husband took their time showing me around the stalls and talking with the stall owners and relaying back to me the stories. I got to try all different things - fresh seafood, patisserie items, oranges, cactus fruit, olives - I felt like I was part of the community, and was so full before the cooking class had even started!! Back at Chamsis beautiful home we cooked up a feast at a leisurely pace, sharing stories, having drinks all whilst learning about the dishes we were preparing. We sat and enjoyed the delicious meal we had prepared together and before I knew it, it was late in the day and time to leave. I cant recommend this experience highly enough!! And be brave, give the camel burgers a try!!
