Max was our tour guide and oh my how lucky we were to have gotten him! He was so incredibly informative and the history of the people of the Mekong Delta was fascinating! He is very knowledgeable and gracious. His English is excellent! 2 of the 5 of us in the tour are vegans and he made sure our food was perfectly prepared for us. The food we had for breakfast was probably the best throng I have eaten after three weeks is traveling. Go before the authentic marketeers are gone, it’s a dying process and will likely be gone soon. Fascinating, but outdated way of life.

Great day if you want to experience the Mekong Delta and surrounds.

What an experience - you will see a lot in a short time. Toan was a great Guide - always looking for our preferences and with a lot of knowledge. Best part were the boat Trips, particularly through the narrow rivers.

Had a great time on this tour. I got to see ALOT in one day and Toan, my tour guide, was so great!
He shared a lot of information and facilitated a really nice day. Boat rides, local food, local sights…it was special!
The boat rides were my favorite part!

The noodles and coffee on the boat was a lovely experience as was the rice noodle making and rum tuk drive through the rural villages. I’d pass on the cocoa and song and dance which was a bit contrived. Overall very enjoyable change of scene from Saigon

This was a very informative tour. I have heard the Mekong Delta in war references since I was young, but I didn’t know what it was all about. Max was great at explaining how the locals live and how the floating market was a trading hub until modern shipping methods took over.
It was definitely worth the drive from HCMC to experience this important area.
And Max was Awesome!

The boat tours are very fun! It’s exciting to go onto the river and see all the activity. The best part was making foods; seeing the people make noodles and coconut candies was super fun! I would definitely go again if I had the chance.

Our one day tour of the Mekong was our best experience. Our guide Thanh Max was exceptional. From our pick up in Saigon before dawn to our return he gave us the best insights into the features and history along the Mekong and the wider Delta area. We learnt so much more than expected. Every aspect from the floating market in Can Tho to the Islands around My Tho went perfectly to plan. We enjoyed the total experience. The floating market and the noodle making, the island farm forlunch, the Lambretta ride through the village, the live snakes, the snake wine, where else could you get such variety in one day. Thank you Thanh and driver for providing such a memorable tour.

An extremely expensive experience for what it was. The overview mentioned we would be back by 5pm but we were back at 2pm! The guide had basic historic knowledge and we didn’t connect. He was kind but quite uninspiring. The car was comfortable but air con was too cold and instead of lowering the air con the guide and driver seemed to make fun of the fact that we were cold. Best part of this experience was the cycling tour in the village, that is exactly the only thing that made the trip worth it and we thoroughly enjoyed that. The floating market was a cringy touristic experience. The market doesn’t function for the locals anymore, so they only run it for tourists and there weren’t many boats (at least at the time that we arrived, around 7-7:30). Lunch was more than we expected, and ok taste-wise, the fried fish was interesting but we were unpleasantly surprised that we were charged extra for the 2 beers we drank! That’s ridiculous if you think that we paid 135€ each for this. We were happy to experience the village but generally it really wasn’t worth it. We’re sorry to have to leave a bad review but we must be honest.

Dear Anna Rose
The early return from the tour was due to our early departure as planned, and recently the government inaugurated a new highway connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho, significantly reducing travel time by 2 hours. We have taken note of your feedback and will adjust the schedule accordingly. Once again, we apologize for not meeting your expectations.

This tour was worth every penny! We left our hotel around 4:30 am and arrived at the market by 6:45 am - early enough to experience the market while it was still bustling. Our tour guide Max was incredible! We had some noodles for breakfast and then were welcomed onto one of the houseboats for some fresh fruit and tea. The bike ride along the canal gives you a taste of the rural village experience. The lunch was one of the best meals we’ve had! We made it back to Saigon early and beat the big tour bus traffic. This is the only way to go experience the delta if you are limited on time but still want an authentic experience. 10/10 would recommend!

My family and I loved this tour. Our guide, Max, was a wealth of knowledge on Vietnamese history and the local culture.
Highlights of this 11-hour tour included a boat ride through the floating market, a lesson in making rice noodles, and a bike ride around a local village. As hoped, the food was also a treat — beef noodle soup for breakfast, fresh pineapple from a market vendor, and lunch at the village that included elephant fish and wonderful fresh produce. Thank you Max for making this an unforgettable chapter of our trip to Ho Chi Minh City.

Very disappointed.Cai Rang floating market is not worth the time and money spent.Hardly any boats with local products for sale.

I'm sorry to hear about your disappointment with the Cai Rang Floating Market tour. It sounds like your experience didn't live up to expectations. If you're open to it, perhaps considering other activities or destinations might offer a more enjoyable experience during your time in Ho Chi Minh City. Your feedback is valuable for other travelers seeking similar experiences.

We had a great time on this tour!!
Eddie was an awesome guide and host. He gave us a ton of information about the market’s history and its current state. We enjoyed the bike ride along the river and the banh xeo making experience. They fed us well too- lunch was huge with multiple main dishes and side dishes. I recommended this tour to all of my friends. It is a must see as Cai Rang is the last remaining floating market.
My only complaint is with the driver for the tour. He had a sour attitude and drove like a madman. There were times when he was driving way too fast when sharing the road with mopeds and regular bikes. He also tailed defenseless mopeds hard, making us feel unsafe like he was going to run them down.

Our tour guide Max was well informed, kind and generous with his guidance during our tour. He corresponded the day before to let us know of his arrival and gave us tips before starting our tour. If you get the chance to have Max as your tour guide, you are in good hands.

The floating market, Eating pinapple on a boat, Noodle making experience. Overall, tour guide was knowledgable and friendly.

This is a perfect tour for those who do not have time to stay close to the Mekong like my boyfriend and I. Our tour guide Max was one of the best tour guides we have ever had while travelling. He was always smiling, full of knowledge, helpful, and accommodating. I can not speak highly enough about our experience. Max promptly picked us up from our hotel in good spirits starting off our day with amazing energy. We rode along the Mekong, ate local fruits and dishes, took a bike ride thru a local village, and even had a surprise canoe ride. We were sad to be dropped and have to say goodbye. Thanks again Max!

Very well informed tour guide, David, was an excellent host for the day. Clean comfortable car with good aircon. Gave us water and mosquito spray. Provided vegetarian options for my wife. The pho we had for breakfast on a house boat was very good. Really enjoyed the whole day and experience especially the markets.

My husband and I did the full day Can Rang Floating Market tour with David as our tour guide. Our pick up was at 5:30 am directly from our hotel. David contacted me the day before our trip to ensure we had breakfast set up and recommended items to bring with us. David and our driver arrived on time with our breakfast already in the car. We set off on our drive, which is about 2 1/2 hours. Along the way we unfortunately got a flat tire. However, David and our driver quickly took care of it and we headed along. Upon arrival at the market we boarded a motor boat were we cruised over to a floating restaurant were we had excellent coffee and our first bowl of noodle soup, which did not disappoint. Afterwards we explored the markets. David was so knowledgeable about the history of the people and how they have lived for many years. He answered all of our questions in detail. After the markets, we took a bike ride to a fruit farm to get a view of the local fruit farmers and ate fresh fruit and rice porridge (delicious!!). On the way back we stopped at a local restaurant for lunch and ate a 5 course meal. We were completely stuffed with all of the amazing food.
David was the most knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. I would recommend him for any tour!
