Nathaniel_G, Feb 2026
We were lucky enough to have Dave as our guide:) He was unbelievable:) So knowledgeable and entertaining:) there was never a dull moment. As a Hotel Concierge in Munich, I have to know a lot about my city, but I have my limits and that’s why I have my number 1 guide that i use on a regular basis. Dave will be my number 1 recommendation for anyone coming to Cambridge:) Thank you Dave and I hope your face heals quickly:) Thank you

An insightful Cambridge tour
GEOKLIAN_C, Oct 2025
The tour is very well conducted. Martin guide from Round Church , spoke very clearly and passionately about the people and the impact and influence the scholars have in their time and the society at large. I understand the belief , the history culture and politics of the country better . The Christian belief have been relevantly lived out by what the Cambridge scholars .

Great guide, lots of information
Nathalie_L, Jul 2025
We thoroughly enjoyed our walk with Dave today. He gave us lots of information about how Cambridge evolved through the ages and about the colleges, their founders and their alumni. The only downside was that it also involved a lot of standing still, but Dave tried to make sure that this was usually in a spot where you can also sit down. Would highly recommend.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
We're thrilled that you enjoyed your tour with Dave; thank you for sharing your experience!
Heavy emphasis on theology
SYED_A, Jun 2025
The tour heavily emphasized on the religious and theological aspects of Cambridge rather than its world famous scientific work. Had I noted it earlier, I probably wouldn’t sign up for this tour. A few left the tour half way, we also left early.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Thank you for your review; we're grateful for your feedback, and I'm sorry if the tour was not quite what you were expecting. Our tour is indeed a little different from a standard tourist tour, as we explore the foundational ideas that have shaped Cambridge's history. This includes the important roles played by many Cambridge scientists, as well as the significant contributions Cambridge figures have made to a variety of other areas of society.

The experience was worth it. Dave, our guide, knows his craft. He doesn’t even stutter when he speaks. He has a sharp memory, and despite the long walk, he still managed to make us laugh. He is also very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The timeline of stories were on point. He presented everything in an organized manner. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cambridge.

Thank you for a wonderful day in Cambridge. As a young family with two young children, we really enjoyed hearing the stories about Cambridge. Although our son asked us a lot of questions during the tour, we felt comfortable and happy to continue with the group.
Response from Host, Sep 2024

Engaging and interesting
Chris_M, Aug 2024
Slightly different perspective to most of the standard tours. As this is provided by the church the focus touches more on the religious origins of the university than talking about famous alumni.
Response from Host, Aug 2024
Thank you for your review, we're glad you enjoyed your tour. Our approach is indeed a little different from a standard tourist tour, with our focus on how a small number of big ideas have shaped the university. We hope that this offers a deeper perspective on Cambridge's history, including on famous figures like Isaac Newton and William Wilberforce.
