We cannot say enough nice things about Ignacio! He is a history professor & provides factual context that was fascinating. He communicates clearly pre-tour & during making sure everyone can hear & is comfortable. He planned a break for people to buy snacks $/or go to the bathroom. We highly recommend the tour you will get a fantastic overview!

Nico is an excellent host. Local resident whose family has been here for at least three generations. Very adept in history, architecture and politics. His tour is unique and that he takes you places where most tours do not go, and his knowledge of the area is exemplary

Great Tour - for the curious to be sure.

    Nancy_P, Jan 2026
We loved this tour. The guide was so sharp and engaging. The route was a nice track along the history of the city. The sites were really well explained. I felt like I received a AP class type tour versus a more mundane "general studies" refresher (which is a good thing). We learned so much - and appreciated the guide's willingness to field our questions/make suggestions for our time in BA.

    Response from Host, Jan 2026

Your words made us smile. Thank you!

Nico was an expert on Argentine culture and people, and his passion brought Buenos Aires to life. He shared fascinating stories with maps and old photos showing how the city has evolved. We learned so much, and his easygoing, conversational style made it feel like exploring with a knowledgeable friend. Highly recommend Buenos Aires for Curious People if you want to see the city beyond the usual tourist spots!

Ignacio did a great job showing us around. Excellent walking tour showcasing some of the less talked about history of Buenos Aires and Argentina but also making sure to cover things around the food etc he loves.

    Response from Host, May 2025

    Thank you Magnus :-)

    Learned so much, intimate experience

    Kelly_C, Apr 2025
Nico was so informed - he knew everything about Argentina’s history and also grew up in Buenos Aires so had so much personal experience to speak from. The tour was a small group so we felt like we really bonded and really got to authentically talk about our experiences and questions. We also stopped for a coffee/bathroom break twice which was a nice way to break up the tour. Great way to spend an afternoon or morning!

    Response from Host, Apr 2025

Muchas gracias, Kelly! It was a pleasure meeting you and your mom, she was great :-) And thank you again for the pictures and the great mood!

The hint is in the name…

    Sarah_P, Apr 2025
Fascinating - but could have done with a bit more structure. You will really learn some fascinating things, at times distressing, at times just academically intriguing. This is not a standard touristy photo-op tour at all…and thus very refreshing. Sadly on our tour there was an elderly couple (we’re mid 60’s so we are not ageist!) who really should not have booked a walking tour. Their slow pace, need for stops and eventual “retirement” was a shame. It’s hard to fault our guide as they can’t verify their clients suitability ahead of time…he was very well versed in the society and politics he was explaining and we had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, which was helped by the eclectic but generally interesting group of fellow curious people!

    Response from Host, Apr 2025

We agree with you, Sarah. Thank you for joining us :-)

    Fun and Informative Walking Tour

    Jennifer_F, Mar 2025
This was a really fun and informative tour of Buenos Aires. The tour took us through the San Telmo neighborhood and ended at Plaza de Mayo. Along the way, we learned about the history of Buenos Aires, the significant buildings and historical figures and experienced the street markets. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and loved sharing information about the city. This was a great way to learn about Buenos Aires!

    Response from Host, Apr 2025

We try our best to never stop studying! We are glad to read it pays off :-)

    Definitely worth your while

    Jane_S, Feb 2025
An excellent overview of the socio, political history of Argentina up until this current time. All of my questions were answered by our guide who was highly knowledgeable and very easy to relate to. This specific tour had been recommended to me by a family member. I strongly recommend it. It will definitely be worth your while.

    Response from Host, Feb 2025

Hi Jane! We are glad to read we were up to the expectations hahaha :-)

Informative, fascinating, and insightful tour in the oldest part of Buenos Aires

    Gian_P, Aug 2024
It is the best tour to get a deep dive into the history and current developments of the oldest part of Buenos Aires. Thanks to Nicolás' excellent storytelling skills, sound knowledge, great personality, and passion for politics, you learn a lot and get to see many fascinating, shocking, and unique spots.

    Response from Host, Aug 2024

Absolutely fantastic tour with Nico. Very interesting walk around Buenos Aires with plenty of historical and current information about the area. Nico is an excellent guide and answered our questions well. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time and I think the tour is excellent value for money. Can’t recommend this trip highly enough. Thanks Nico!

    Go Learn Laugh

    roger_t, Apr 2024
Nickolas is a history museum employee and brings the early and more recent history of Argentina to life. He was fun, informed, and his excellent English was really appreciated. All the information was important to know, without going into too much detail. This one is a winner

    Response from Host, Aug 2024

"Learn & laugh" could be our next motto hahah gracias por such a nice review!

    Know Buenos Aires better!

    Barbara_L, Oct 2023
It was a great tour especially if you want to start to understand the cimplex history background of Buenos Aires. Nick was very interested in hearing what you wanted from the tour and answering your questions. His English was superb and he was patient when we indulged in Spanish. A very enjoyable few hours, we recommend to all travelers.

    Don't pass this up!

    Michael_M, Nov 2022
I wish I could give more stars for this marvelous tour! We were blessed with a small group, which meant that everyone's questions were answered. And our guide Sophia was very engaging and patient with all of our questions. This is one of the best tours I've ever been on. Without question, we came away from it educated and enlightened about the history (both centuries and decades old). I doubt that it would be possible to get a better feel for the complicated history that is Argentina.

    Response from Host, Nov 2022

This is such a wonderful review! We are so glad to know you found our job worthy. This is the kind of fuel we need to keep doing what we do.

The tour with Nico was a wonderful experience! He was so knowledgeable about the history of Buenos Aires and of the country more generally. He really brought the history to life with our visits to different sites around the city. He was also able to bring another tour guide along with us for my partner who doesn’t speak much Spanish, as I was trying to improve my Spanish. I really appreciated that. A wonderful tour!

Let really get to know san Telmo

    Anna_i, Feb 2022
So first thing is first, Santiago made this tour so worth it! Knowledgeable and such a great attitude! I loved this tour because we toured san Telmo and a few other spots at our pace. We laughed and asked questions, he was such a great sport.

    Response from Host, Feb 2022

Thank you Anna! It was a pleasure meeting you!

Great way to learn about Buenos Aires!

    George_T, Jan 2022
Great experience! Very informative and comfortable walk. Our guide was extremely helpful and ready to answer any questions we had.

    Response from Host, Jan 2022

Thank you George! It is always very nice to meet interesting people like you!

Great experience! For those who want to learn

    Gabriela_E, Jan 2022
The tour was great! It definly was not a regular touristic tour, but a historical one. During our day Nicolás was able to explain a lot of curiosities around the city of Buenos Aires, how it was founded, the political issues behind its economics and social matters and the challenges for the future. It definilly made us fall in love for the city and for the porteños! When you are travelling, it's very important to be open to understand the reality of the place you are visiting, and this tour is a good recomendation for those ones who want to learn.

    Response from Host, Jan 2022

Thank you so much, Gabriela! It was vert nice meeting you! Hope to see you soon!
