The idea is to make several stops and purchase food / drink. It’s fine for what it is, but it’s not anything exciting. The lavender farm is worth skipping.

Our experience with Elliot driving us on our many stop adventure was so easy. We got to experience each stop fully with minutes before each pick up. Elliot was on time every time.
I would truly recommend this service if you are new or old to the island. It brings a perspective of knowledge that you may have missed if you were on your own.
Five star service from this rider.

Thank you for the wonderful 5 start review Gail! It was a pleasure having you both on board. So glad you enjoyed our Artisan Trail tour! Look forward to seeing you again next time you're back in town. Cheers - Elliot

We booked this tour because we wanted to learn about local companies and their products. We expected to visit the company and have a minimum of explanation of their products, to understand their characteristics and evaluate whether to buy them, but none of that. We were escorted to the shops of each company, where we had 1 hour to shop. When booking we were asked if we wanted to have the guide now or written, and the language.... we did not have any guide, we are not clear, therefore, the reason for the question. Experience overall very disappointing, with an exaggerated cost given how much is offered (transport from one store to another). Nothing to say to the driver, always kind and punctual.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. It sounds like there may have been a misunderstanding about the nature of the Salt Spring Hop On Hop Off tour, and we appreciate the chance to clarify for future guests.
Our service is designed as flexible transportation — as the name suggests, a “Hop On, Hop Off” tour — allowing guests to explore Salt Spring Island at their own pace. With 6 scenic stops to choose from along a 28km route it offers excellent value starting at $55 CAD for the whole day. For context, a one-way taxi from Ganges Village to the cheese farm alone can cost around $50.
We don’t offer guided tours at any of the locations, but rather provide convenient transportation to popular local attractions and small businesses. There’s absolutely no pressure to purchase from any of them — in fact, several offer free or low-cost experiences. For example, guests can enjoy complimentary cheese samples, a $10 guided wine tasting (which is waived with the purchase of a bottle), and free access to the Lavender Farm who provide complimentary lavender tea, with no purchase necessary.
Our tours are conducted in English only, and we’re unsure where the reference to language options may have come from — apologies for that confusion and we’ll look into this to avoid any future inconveniences.
We're happy to hear your driver was kind and punctual. Thank you again for your review, and we wish you all the best on your future travels.
