The bumpy ride to the top is well worth it. Bring warm clothes and be ready to be amazed by the view. As the sun rises, it is a glorious sight to see the sky light up and to know that you are at the very top of the world! Our driver was kind and they provided a cute breakfast box that hit the spot. A one of a kind experience.

The tour was just okay overall. It started off on a rough note when we were informed that our driver had gotten sick, which resulted in us being picked up about 40 minutes late.
Our guide didn’t introduce himself and while other groups seemed to be getting detailed explanations about the Volcano’s history ours barely spoke to us at all. When it came time for breakfast, we couldn’t find him and had no idea where to go, so we ended up having to ask someone else for help.
The weather being cloudy wasn’t the tour’s fault, but it did add to the overall underwhelming experience. I suppose it really depends on whether you’re lucky enough to get a good guide.

I had an horrible night, I got my reservation confirmation but my shuttle never showed up. Had been waiting outside in the cold for over a hour. Will go see if I get my money back and go back to bed >:(

Breathtaking! The ride up was quite bumpy and the “monster trucks” were built to handle the terrain. I was thankful we did not try to hike up- VERY challenging! We brought winter clothing (ski gloves/coat, scarves, hat… and I am glad we did! The wind is quite aggressive and frigid. It feels way colder than the temperature indicates. The views were stunnnnnning! We were above the clouds and could see the sun emerge and reveal the city and oceans. Really other worldly! Experience of a lifetime.

This was a fantastic tour! Although I hated that 03:45 am pickup, it was totally worth it! The driver, Nestor Caballero, did an outstanding job getting us safely up and down the treacherous path…in the dark I may add. If you have back issues or get motion sickness, this may not be the tour for you. We were fortunate to have clear skies all morning which allowed us to have great views of the city at twilight, that spectacular sunrise, and the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea. After the sunrise we were treated to a small breakfast. Please note that it is cold up there so dress warm and that there is an uphill hike from where the vehicles park to get to the highest point…so bring that inhaler and take breaks as needed. Also bring a bottle of water and toilet paper.

This is an once in a lifetime experience. You feel like you're up on the clouds. Keep in mind that it is VERY cold up there so bring winter pants and coats. I really liked our guide, Leo. He was an expert driver and took good care of everyone.

Have to get up quite early in the morning but absolutely worth it.
Big thanks to Melissa Miranda for bringing us up & down the vulcano safely, very skilled and adventurous.
We enjoyed every moment of the tour. Tip for the next explorers, dress up warm it's so cold up there! So beautiful experience really!! Highly recommended

Amazing! I don’t particularly like waking up at 2:30AM for anything, but especially on vacation! This was so worth it, though. Our guide, Jose, picked us up at our hotel and the journey to the volcano’s summit began. It’s nearly two hours at a slow crawl up the rocky path to the top—in the dark!—but it’s really quite the adventure! Bumps, twists, turns—it’s all there, and without a cup of coffee before we left. The summit is breathtaking; the rains and clouds let up to allow us to see both oceans. The sunrise was covered by the clouds, but one gets the point! We had breakfast, prepared by Jose, overlooking the Pacific. Then it was back down the mountain, which is just as much fun as the trip up!

If you're assigned John as a driver and so-called guide, refuse!
He made us miss the beginning of the sunrise by his incompetence. When the night ended, he left us in the car and went to talk with his colleagues. When I was worried about what was going on, he said "do as you please" when we had no information on the way forward. Shameful. Bordering on the scam
