Fun pub crawl!

We originally thought we would be taken to the standard well-known bars in Baku but we were pleasantly surprised to visit some unknown, off the beaten path pubs with kitsch decor. The tour guide (Azay) was excellent. I would highly recommend to go for the tour over a weekend. We happened to go on a weekday so most of the bars were a bit empty. It seems that much of Baku nightlife only comes alive over the weekend. But that didn't stop us from having a really fun night out!

Worst experience

We booked the pub crawl tour with our 6 friends. We have been booking tours with for more than 10 years. By far this was the worst experience. The pubs were cheap & basic. We pointed out this to our guide hyder who decided to take us to hapennig pubs called kefli & The room. However, we were denied entry. Hyder told us we should have booked the tour 3 days in advance so that they can reserve a table for us. If that is the case, why did viator accept my booking? We ourselves could have gone to the pubs hyder took. The pub fairplay smell was horrible. This was the worst experience of my life.This was not worth at all in terms of time, money and experience. We could have spent this time and money somewhere else and enjoyed.

Hi Vinod! Thank you for the feedback. I totally understand you have explored different parts of the world and experienced pubs crawls where they share historical background of the drinks consumed (as you told to your guide), but this is not a historical tour and the goal of the pub crawl is to socialize and explore the local spots and nightlife. Regarding the denied entry, we don't require booking 3 days in advance. However, some pubs/clubs can easily get crowded and if that's the case, we substitute those with other pubs. The pubs and clubs we choose are hotspots of the expat and local community. I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy this experience. It's really a pity. Please write to us and we can discuss what we can do to elevate your Azerbaijani experience.

Enjoyed the tour and the pubs we went to, nice people in the group and guide. Places were lively and each within walking distance from one and another. I wouldn't book anything through Viator as it was much more expensive than booking through Baku Tours directly. Viator overcharged me by $12.

In Baku for the F1 weekend. We had an absolute blast with our tour guide Rasul - great variety of Pubs and we finished off with a fantastic live band. Learned lots from Rasul over the course of the evening. Very nice gentlemen and so knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour and Rasul as your guide.
