The tour departs from our marina located inside Casa China Bacalar. Detailed directions and a map will be provided after booking.
Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled departure with your swimsuit already on to allow enough time for check-in and boarding.
Ground transportation is not included. Guests are responsible for arriving at Casa China Bacalar. Free on-site parking is available for guests arriving by car.
Tour Options: The Private Pontoon Adventure lasts 3 hours. The Private Boat & Onboard BBQ experience lasts 4 hours and includes the freshly prepared BBQ. Please select your preferred option when booking.

Private Experience: Your boat is reserved exclusively for your group. You will not share the boat with other parties.
Grill Option: The onboard BBQ includes shrimp, beef and vegetable skewers with homemade guacamole and chips. Vegetarian options are available upon request.
What to Bring: Please bring a towel, swimsuit, hat or cap, sun-protective clothing and sunscreen. Extra cash is recommended for gratuities, souvenirs and additional food or drinks.
Alcohol: Beer is available only to guests of legal drinking age. Please drink responsibly and in moderation.
Beach Club Benefits: Both options include Casa China Beach Club access, a one-hour kayak rental, access to the lookout tower and a 10% discount on food and beverages. The discount does not apply to the ice cream cart.
Lagoon Conditions: Bacalar is a natural freshwater lagoon, so water color, clarity and conditions may vary depending on weather and environmental factors.
Weather & Water Activities: The itinerary and swimming stops may be modified for safety due to weather or water conditions.
Late Arrivals / No-Shows: Guests who arrive late or fail to show up for their scheduled activity are not eligible for a refund.
Swimming: Swimming stops are part of the experience. Guests who choose to swim should be comfortable in the water. Life jackets are provided.

It was a scam trip Don’t book this trip!

We never got to go on the tour because they pulled a bait and switch on us. They sold us the Adventure Grill Tour with skewers and drinks but the day before they sent us a message saying that we were just getting diced fruit and fruit drinks. When I sent them proof of the Adventure Grill Tour that we booked they then canceled our trip and said no that the Adventure Grill trip was just an option. So then I asked them to reschedule the trip for us and they gave the excuse that the trip was full and they couldn’t do it because it would cost more??? So I have all the information to show that they were scamming us and I will have my credit card aware of these charges as a dispute.

However, we understand from your review that you were expecting the features of our Bacalar Grill Tour, which offers a different set of inclusions such as grilled food and additional beverages. We want to assure you that our team made several attempts to clarify the differences between these two distinct tours. This included over ten emails and coordination with Viator, the travel agency through which you booked your tour, to ensure the correct understanding of the package purchased. Our primary goal was to rectify the confusion and ensure your satisfaction by offering detailed explanations and encouraging communication with Viator for any possible adjustments to your booking. Understanding your preference for the Bacalar Grill Tour, we attempted to accommodate your request despite the initial booking for the Bacalar Lagoon Tour. We informed you of the price difference between the two tours, which you agreed to cover. However, due to the Bacalar Grill Tour's more limited capacity and high demand, we were fully booked on the date you desired. Recognizing this, we suggested an alternative date for the Bacalar Grill to try and accommodate your wishes, always aiming to provide you with the experience you were looking forward to. Despite our best efforts to resolve the misunderstanding and accommodate your preferences, it is clear from your review that the situation was not satisfactorily addressed from your perspective. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and understand the disappointment you felt upon learning that the tour you were expecting was not the one booked. In light of the confusion and to avoid further inconvenience, our team made the decision to cancel and fully refund your booking before the tour date.
