Had a great tour with Narinder. He was able to tailor my trip to fit the short time I was in Amritsar. I found the Golden Temple beautiful and will never forget viewing the border demonstration. Had great conversation with Narinder. He is a very humble guy and is the sweetest guide I have ever had. He is knowledgeable and knows so much about the area's history.

Amritsar is the place to be - Narinder tourguide has the keys!

I had a one day tour of Amritsar with Narinder and it was excellent. I only made the booking at about 8 PM the night before I wanted to go, and he contacted me that same night to give me the details for the next morning. He gave me a thorough tour of the golden temple and we had langar (community meal) with a lot of behind-the-scenes tours of how things are made and done there. Practically no lines at all to wait in as he had the system down. He gives extremely robust historical background on everything that we see and knows an astonishing amount of information off the top of his head, including dates, numbers, and the like. We then visited Durgah temple, which was a quick but worthwhile experience. I elected not to do the border ceremony given turmoil in the region, but that would also have been included for the price. Narinder was extremely kind and patient. He answered all of my mini historical and cultural questions and he also took all of the photographs that I wanted and retook them until they were good. He also helped me shop and made sure I got good deals on souvenirs, turban, and tailored clothes. No complaints at all. It was an excellent day in a wonderful place to see. Pick Narinder if you are a history nerd or just want a great guide with perfect English to make the most out of your time in Amritsar. When I come back, and I will, I will book him again for his other tour!

Fantastic trip. We found the entire tour really enjoyable, at times exciting and overall very inciteful. Excellent, varied content. Narindar was a fabulous guide, keeping us on time, on track and always entertained. He was an excellent communicator and always on time. We particularly enjoyed the visit to the workings of the kitchen at the Golden Temple, and loved the ceremony at the Attari-Wagah border post - great fun and quite an experience! We would totally recommend this tour to others.

Disappointing experience – I would avoid this agency when visiting Amritsar

I booked a private Amritsar tour through this agency expecting a professional and relaxed guided experience. Unfortunately, the experience did not go as expected. Before my arrival, the operator contacted me via WhatsApp and offered to arrange airport transportation. I accepted the offer for convenience, and they quoted Rs 2100 for the transfer. However, the driver never showed up at the airport, so I arranged my own taxi instead. Only then did I learn that the usual airport taxi price is around Rs 500, which made the originally quoted price seem very excessive. Later, when the tour started, the visit to the Golden Temple area felt very rushed and not like a proper guided tour. We even stopped at a coffee shop where the operator spoke about how little they receive from Viator bookings and suggested additional services outside the platform. This conversation made the situation uncomfortable. The guide who was introduced also appeared very young and inexperienced and struggled to explain the historical context of the places we visited. Because of the overall atmosphere and the quality of the tour, I decided to stop the experience early. To be fair, after I reported the situation to Viator and provided the communication screenshots, Viator reviewed the case and eventually issued a full refund. However, based on my experience, I would strongly advise travelers to be careful with additional arrangements outside the platform and to clarify prices in advance. Personally, I would recommend avoiding this company when planning a visit to Amritsar and considering other tour operators instead.

A perfect day in Amritsar

Uppal’s Your Dream Holidays was a real find. We got the Viator one-day package, and had a fabulous day. Both Uppal and his colleague Mandeep were great hosts, taking us through the Golden Temple both morning and evening, out to the Wagha Border, two excellent restaurants, and a couple shops with local prices ;-) We also needed transfers from the airport, and onto our outbound train, and Uppal arranged it all. He and his team are very hard-working. And both Uppal and Mandeep were exceptionally informative about the rich history, traditions and spirituality of Amritsar. We could not have imagined a better visit - and all in a day! Highest recommendation!

It was nice to have a female guide for our tour because my other half often finds that make guides talk to the man and the woman is secind-priority. We wrote our own itinerary, which was followed by the guide, who had a good and thorough knowledge of all aspects. Pickup and drop-off ran to time and the day went well with no real hiccups. The only minus was that the guide asked us to leave the Attari Wagah 15-20 minutes before the end, to avoid the departure crush. If we had done-so we would have missed a lot of it. We left just over 5 minutes early, still avoided the crush, and (think we) missed very little.

Amritsar day and night

Mandeep our guide was very nice, we enjoyed the visit to the golden temple during the day and evening. I would recommend tye evening visit, very beautiful. Daytime we had a complete tour of the temple area including the kitchen area preparing and cooking food. Very interesting. We then had a visit to the independence museum, saw the history from start of partition to independence. We then had lunch. The restaurant was ok, preferred if it was not in the basement without any natural light. We then went to see the border guards exchanging their ceremonies. We found it a bit too long but worth the experience. Lovely day out.

She was absolutely amazing — knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about sharing the city with us. She explained every detail of the Golden Temple with great care and clarity, helping us truly understand its history, meaning, and traditions. Beyond the temple, she shared stories about the city and its landmarks, which made the whole experience richer and more meaningful. Mandeep also took us to an excellent local restaurant, perfectly chosen, and made sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout the day. Everything flowed naturally and pleasantly. Excellent tour of Amritsar!

I had an excellent experience with this tour and guide in Amritsar. The day covered the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, and Wagah Border, and it was very well paced throughout. As the Partition Museum was closed on the Monday, Narinder instead took me to the museum within the Golden Temple complex. This was a real highlight — the space is filled with powerful artwork and storytelling, and it added a deep cultural and emotional dimension to the visit. We also spent time at the community kitchen (langar), which was incredibly moving. I was invited to take part in making chapattis and then share the meal, which gave me a genuine, hands-on understanding of the spirit of service and equality that underpins the Golden Temple. Narinder was extremely knowledgeable, explained historical and cultural context clearly, and was happy to answer questions without rushing or overwhelming the experience. Communication was clear, logistics were smooth, and I felt well looked after while still having space to absorb what I was seeing. I would highly recommend this tour — and Narinder in particular — to anyone wanting a thoughtful, well-explained introduction to Amritsar rather than a rushed checklist of sights.

Best time in Amritsar

My daughter and I were visiting Amritsar and we're very worried about traveling alone. We booked this trip and had the best experience. After booking I got in touch with Narinderji and he answered all my questions beforehand. He was constantly in touch with me thru my journey. Our flight was delayed by a couple of hours and he made sure we got to our hotel safely at midnight. He took his time showing us every sight and explaining things in detail and answering all our questions. We had the best time and will definitely be back. The food joints in Amritsar are the best.

We went to every places listed on the tour. My suggestion to the tour: provide another option for partition museum. I would skip it if I did some research ahead of time.

We had an amazing 2 days in Amritsar! Narinder and Deepak were incredible, hospitable and knowledgeable tour guides and made sure our visit was truly special! They went out of their way to accommodate us, given that we were a multi-generational group - they arranged for us to visit the golden temple at different times to view the temple complex under different light conditions etc. They told us about the rich history of Amritsar and the temple in a way that was interesting and informative! We also had a fantastic time at the Wagah border, and the ceremony there was both entertaining and unique. And the visit to the Jalianwala Bagh complex and the Partition Museum was a walk through time to some of the darkest chapters in the history of Indian independence. They went over and above what had been promised on the tour - when we wanted to sample local sweets and foods, they took us to a place that was known for this, and when we wanted to add an early morning 4 am viewing of the temple and Guru Granth Sahib ceremony to the itinerary, they organized this for us as well! And our driver Kulvinder, who picked us up and dropped us off at the airport, and who was with us throughout, was courteous, and prompt! Visiting Amritsar is a must do bucket list item, and I would highly recommend Narinder and his team if you want to visit this beautiful city!

This was definitely one of the best tours we had in our trip to India. First of all, as we missed our flight from Mumbai and were arriving on a later flight the next morning, the agency showed great flexibility in rearranging our transport and tour location to suit the new timetable. Secondly, the tour was excellently guided by Narinder, who was ready to answer all of our numerous answers and provided a great and professional guidance throughout the day, even doing his best to accommodate all of our additional interests such as shopping at a local grocery.

This was an excellent tour in a fascinating city. Pickup from the hotel was punctual and after a thorough introduction to the city's history, there was the famous walk to the Golden temple. Narinder, my guide, gave very clear explanations and descriptions of the development of the Temple area. We visited the key locations within always with time to sit or stand and contemplate and take in the atmosphere. I very much appreciated his willingness to listen and to show me things. After a fresh and welcome lunch, we were off to the Border with Pakistan with the daily lowering of flags ceremony. This is where I was grateful for my guide's knowledge and expertise in managing me through thousands of visitors, directing me to the right queue and seats. And that show is a spectacular. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the day especially having so many great conversations with Narinder.

Really enjoyed this tour of Amritsar. Gautam was very knowledgeable about the entire site. Our walk through the golden temple was very insightful. Driver was great. No pressure on tour stop at any shops. When our camera died after the golden temple, Gautam was happy to stop back at our hotel to get a battery before going to the Wagah border. Would definitely recommend, felt it was good value for money.
