My friends and I had an absolutely wonderful time doing this cooking class in Belize! Our instructor Oscar and his mother were so sweet and kind! Oscar translated the instructions and the class in English while his mother spoke in Spanish - which made for a super authentic adn very special experience. We loved that while learning about the meal we were cooking - we also got a brief history and cultural lesson from them as well, along with cooking tips and tricks. After cooking we sat down and ate our food with the rest of the class family style, it was great! Everything was so delicious and we had enough food to take home and eat on for the rest of the day! I look forward to makign my own Ceviche and Papusas at home someday! I would come back to take this class over and over again, it was marvelous!

They never told us we had to take a boat to another island from where the ship docked . If we had missed our boat it would have cost us more then we lost . We had no way to contact them until we got back to the states . So we lost all the money we paid . Learned a lesson book threw the cruise ship only

Our kids and us really enjoyed this activity, we learned a new skill in a relaxing atmosphere and got to taste the fruits of our labor. The teachers were helpful and knowledgeable. It was a good break from the other more physically active activities we were doing on vacation.

My husband, son, and I attended this cooking class on 3/17. We had a blast. The food was delicious, and we were being taught by the family's elder (grandma). Grandma gave us a lot of kitchen gems that I plan to use at home, and she taught us a lot regarding food preparation. I highly recommend this tour!

We had a great experience. Chef and her son were both very knowledgeable and made it a great day. Only critique was that they gave us pointers on things after we had already done them at times, instead of before. Food was super fresh and yummy and we were so full when we were done and even brought stuff back to the house! Definitely recommend!

This was a fun cooking class with Oscar. We learned a little about Mayan culture and foods. We tried vegetables weād never tasted before (the macal hash browns were amazing), and we learned tricks for making delicious ceviche and pupusas. We loved it!

It is a fun experience, a the instructor s are great. I do wish they would give instructions first, then offer coaching. They basically have you chop everything incorrectly and then tell you the correct way after youāre done.

Not impressedā¦ they told us to āchop the vegetables like youāre at homeā, then when we finished they showed us how they do it more efficiently so it was too late for us to try. The chef also mixed the masa herself while we were chopping vegetables and then just gave us patties. Very weird. Should definitely incorporate more teaching and involvement from the crowd.

Chef Oscar was awesome, we cooked, we learned, we ate! We started by making our own Ceviche (I made lobster ceviche, Rod made shrimp) both came out excellent (we ate every bite!) Then a little Belizean and Mayan food history, which was fascinating. Did you know the if you rub garlic on a mosquito bite it will stop itching? I didn't but we tried it...it really worked! The on to the main attraction, we made Pupusas. These flatten corn meal patties (like extra thick pancakes) with things baked inside. We made a meat one (with pork), a veggie one (mine was acorn squash and Rod's was spinach, the were amazing. But the best one? The dessert pupusa, we made them with banana and then covered them in chocolate syrup. WOW! They were amazing. We were so full when we left there, we took 1/2 of it back to the hotel. What a great experience, I would highly recommend it if you like to cook, learn about food, or just eat....it was worth it. Thank you Chef Oscar!

Honestly, this was so much better than I thought it might be. Oscar did the translating, but his mom was the teacher and chef. We learned so much more than cooking - she is a wealth of knowledge! What to put in a burn, that cilantro stems have the flavor and leaves have the aroma, how to keep flies away, etc. My one suggestion would be to see the demo of how to make ceviche before attempting it ourselves.

Awesome time with my fiance! The chef was amazing. She only speaks spanish but they have someone helping who translates. You can tell the chef has genuine passion for cooking and teaching and she made it so welcoming and fun. I personally donāt really know how to cook but it was super easy and not stressful and the food was great! Would recommend

We highly recommend the Balizean Cooking Experience. While the guys went fishing, us girls learned to make ceviche and papusas. This was a fun learning experience for all of us. We can't wait to invite our families over for homemade papusas.

We were married on the island earlier in the week, this was our first time cooking as a married couple! The experience was amazing. Oscar translated and demonstrated the cooking and educational info from the main chef (and older lady) we wish we could understand Spanish because she seemed funny and sweet! We made lobster ceviche and 4 different types of papusa's. They showed different ways to cut vegetables and also how meat was prepared, and also safety suggestions. AND the portions were plentiful when we enjoyed the feast we prepared. Was an overall great experience!!

I enjoyed very much. I was most interested in the ceviche recipe. As long as I can now replicate at home I will use somewhat regularly. Oscar and Donna were vey helpful and informative. I personally didnāt understand the language. She showed the process and was entertaining. Communication was fun
