Overview

If you want a special, memorable experience beyond the standard Great Barrier Reef day tours, spend the night in an amazing "reefbed." Cruise through the Whitsunday Islands to Hardy Reef, where the pontoon is moored. Observe local marine life on a guided snorkel tour and semi-submarine ride. Once the daytrippers have left, enjoy a peaceful sunset dinner before retiring to your queen-size bed on the upper deck of the pontoon.

All intending divers over the age of 55 years of age must produce a current Diving Medical Certificate. All divers are subject to a medical questionnaire on board the vessel before diving and their fitness to dive will be assessed by a diving instructor
A history of certain medical conditions may preclude a guest from SCUBA diving unless a current Diving Medical Certificate can be shown to the instructor.
You will be required to complete a medical and dietary requirement form that will be sent to you on confirmation of the booking

We had a wonderful trip and truly enjoyed our stay on the pontoon. It was such a unique and memorable experience. From the moment we boarded, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Special thanks to Venessa, who patiently answered all our questions about the activities. We finally decided to try the intro scuba diving, and we were thrilled to have both James and Venessa leading us. James was experienced and humorous, making us feel relaxed, while Venessa was incredibly attentive and caring throughout the dive. It was our very first diving experience, and we’re so grateful to them for making it such an unforgettable journey. We’ll definitely come back again!

This was an experience I will never ever forget, from stepping on to the pontoon you are treated like royalty. The food was amazing 5 star.?honestly this is a once in a lifetime trip that I will definitely be back.

Exceptional experience all around; I stayed in the Reefsuite - highly recommended (the pods are cute, but the privacy, underwater view and comfort of the suite cannot be equaled); the service and food were outstanding and the activities - scuba, snorkeling, helicopter rides - they were all fun and revealed the beauty of the reef. Upon arrival, the activities seem rushed, but I recommend doing them all! After the day visitors leave at 3 PM, the rest of the day/night and next morning are then leisurely lived and enjoyed. A wonderful experience

From the moment you board the boat we were looked after by designated staff. Would definitely recommend this experience if you love the ocean & snorkeling. The reefsuite room was an absolute highlight.

I can’t recommend this enough. The hosts were so welcoming to everyone, swimmers and non-swimmers alike. The suites were way better than I thought they would be (the photos don’t give it enough justice). Great food, thanks to the extraordinary chef - and plenty of it, including lunch, afternoon tea, canapés, sundowners, dinner, breakfast, morning tea and another lunch. But best if all and the highlight is the Reef and the breathtaking marine life. I would do it again tomorrow

One of the most fabulous experiences!! Slept in an underwater suite, watching thousands of fish surrounding the pontoon. It was difficult to tear ourselves away from the view from our bed. Staff was incredible, as was the food. Everyone should have this opportunity.

This was an awesome experience and has gotten ample publicity from many notable travel companies/magazines (I heard about it through Travel +Leisure). Your 3-hour cruise to the reefsuites is operated by Cruise Whitsundays. There are some choppy sections so pack some motion sickness medicine (you can buy some on board too). You will get plenty of instructions and opportunities to book add-on excursions on the ferry ride there. I opted to book a helicopter ride and a scuba dive. Upon arrival to your destination for the night (think a barge in the ocean), everyone disembarks the ferry but, only a select few are taken upstairs and allowed to place away their luggage as they await check-in. You start your day with lunch, then maybe a Great Barrier Reef excursion of choice, and then you check in. Most overnight guests are staying in the "reefsleeps" which are essentially bed tents on the top of the barge that open up to allow nighttime stargazing. However, you are one of the lucky two to be staying in the "reefsuites", 2 separate rooms below deck with mouth-dropping views of underwater ocean life. You can spend as much time in your room as you want, then come upstairs for dinner and any evening excursions or just a quick snorkel. Don't worry, the view at night from your suite is amazing and you won't want to go to sleep. The following day you have breakfast, take any last-minute excursions, have lunch and then head back to the arriving ferry to head back to Airlie Beach. By far, an experience of your lifetime Plan in advance as this now books nearly 1 year out
