We were picked up at 8.30am. to be driven around areas and shown a lot of half built houses, no explanation or history as to why we were being shown these areas. We were driven to a fish restaurant, the menu was very basic and if you wanted to add chips to the fish it was extra. The grilled fish given to me was undercooked one side (the fish had been cut in half) and partially cooked the other side, I ate a bit and fed the rest to the cats hanging around. The fridge that the fish was displayed in was stacked high with fish and we watched more coming in and being added to this over loaded open fridge. I went down with food poisoning from eating the fish meal and the poisoning lasted 7 days. My friend and I worked it out that it was the only place where we ate different meals, the rest of the time we ate the same foods and my friend did not end up with food poisoning.
We were then taken to a supermarket so that the driver could pick up supplies for the evening. Then we were taken to an area that contained camels of different ages, it was explained that the camels were there for a market the following day. We asked why the young camels were bleating and was informed that they were calling for their mums, this was really horrible to see the distress of the babies and something we really should not have been shown.
We finally came to an area that contained some houses and was told it was a village, there were only a few houses of sorts, the driver and another lady who was with us gave out many sweets to the kids, our driver explained he took clothes and shoes along with food supplies to these people as they were very poor. Our driver put his car in a garage and we were squash into a 4 x 4 to take us to the camp.
The camp contained a large tent area where we could sit, there was 9 white square tents to house us for the night. There was electricity and normal running toilets. We sat around for quite a long while not doing anything, Everyone apart from myself were taken up a hill to watch the sun setting, I couldn't go because I'm mobility impaired and wouldn't be able to walk up the hill. At 9.00pm the dinner was brought out, it was a Turin with 5 very small chicken wings (one each) and vegetables, it was too late in the evening for us to eat non of us ate much. Then we sat around again, we could not converse with the other people due to language barrier. I went to bed but I understand by my friend that the entertainment consisted the driver and 2 others to draw grooves in the sand and set it on fire.
The mattresses were like rock and the cushions needed a crane to move them. There was very thick blankets.
The following day we were served a Moroccan breakfast and our driver asked if we wanted to go straight back to the hotel or do some more driving around, we chose to return to the hotel after a camel ride. We was taken to an area where there were camels and a scarf was supplied to act as a turban, I do NOT recommend the ride, it was £10 and we was taken around a very small area, it took no longer than 3 minutes. Afterwards a guy was going around offering you to hold a scorpion.
We arrived back at the hotel by early afternoon.
I would have been better to have been picked up afternoon of the first day instead of driving around and around making the journey long and boring and very tiring. It seemed to be a way of stretching the experience so that more money could be charged. I DO NOT recommend this trip, its not really an experience as such. We were not even that far into the desert, about 2 minutes ride, it was more the very start of the desert rather than actually in it, there was still light pollution by the surrounding towns/villages, so stars could not be seen. It was an experience, but a very disappointing one and the driving around was very boring.

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, although we are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations.
This is actually the first time we have received such a review, and we take your comments very seriously.
As mentioned in the activity description, this is a local and authentic experience, not a luxury desert camp. The tents are simple but clean, with electricity and bathroom facilities, offering travelers the opportunity to discover local life in a genuine way.
Regarding the restaurant, we have been working with this partner for a long time and have never had any issues with food quality or hygiene. However, we will immediately follow up with them to ensure this does not happen again.
For the dinner at the camp, the tajines are always prepared for two people and there is always enough food. It’s possible that there was an exceptional mistake that day, and we sincerely apologize if that was the case.
Finally, the program includes several stops designed to show local culture and landscapes such as villages, the camel market, and desert surroundings. These moments are part of the authentic experience that many travelers enjoy.
We are truly sorry that this experience did not match what you were expecting and we still hope you keep good memories of your stay in Morocco.
Kind regards,
The LOWTOURS Team

Such a good experience we got in desert stay! If you looking for something special so this is it - sunset, fire show, sleeping in the tent, drinking local tea with nice people from village, see different amazing spots of Morocco! Our drive MOHA RAMI told so many different things about Morocco culture, it was so interesting! Such a friendly person, very good communication. Play games with our son during trip!

The desert tour was an incredibly impressive and enriching experience for us. We were a small group of great people and our guide Mohamed informed us super at all times and has responded to every traveler very personally. The many stops of the trip were sensationally great and Mohamed even took us to other places that were on the route. The camp in the desert was the absolute highlight and the people we met there, extremely nice and friendly. The whole trip impressed us lastingly and we will definitely make a bigger tour through the desert in the near future, if possible again with our great guide Mohamed!!! Thank you for the great experience.
