A Fantastic History Lesson!

Pena palace, Cascais and lighthouse tour

Our guide Bruno was excellent. Well versed in the history of the sights we visited and more. He was able to answer our questions with interesting insights and details. I highly recommend asking for Bruno when doing this tour. The sights we visited were a mixed bag, with some places more beautiful than others. I enjoyed the seaside cliff views and the more natural places we visited. Peña palace was okay but I thought its upkeep could have been better. Overall I’ll give the guide a 5 star and the tour itself a 4 star.

They never showed up to pick us up at the meeting place. Tried to contact them by email and phone no answer. It’s now 7 pm still no email or phone call. Not impressed with the service. Viator contact help line was great to help us out, they tried to contact the local operator and didn’t get any reply.

Miguel ( Bruno) was great. Very knowledgeable about the sights and the history. Good English and Spanish. Personable and friendly. Went out of his way to make sure everyone was taken care of. Organized but gave us enough time to explore and shop. Great driver.

Bruno M is an excellent guide. He made the trip interesting and very educational. He is knowledgeable about the history of Portugal and gave detailed explanations. This is a worthwhile tour. No long lines or waiting because we got to Sintra early. There is good shopping and many restaurants in Cascais.

I had an amazing solo day trip to Sintra and Cascais, and our guide Jamie made the experience even better. He was incredibly helpful, always quick to answer questions, and gave us the freedom to explore each location at our own pace. I appreciated being dropped off near the main attractions with solid recommendations on what to see and do. Even though I went solo, I ended up meeting a lovely couple on the tour and had a great time sharing the experience with them. The itinerary was well-organized, the scenery was stunning, and Jamie’s laid-back but informative style made everything run smoothly. Tip: Definitely wear good walking shoes—there’s a fair bit of walking, and some of the paths (especially in Sintra) can be steep or uneven.

This was a pleasant tour into a little quieter area full of history and beauty. We definitely recommend it.
