An important tour. Seeing is believing...

The tour organiser stayed in touch from a week before the trip to the day of the tour. The time was changed from a morning to afternoon tour however the tour operator does warn customers in advance that this could happen. It suited me in the end. You should definitely leave the full day clear for this tour. You will be in no mood to do much else after because of the subject matter. A well organised tour with convenient pick-up points throughout Krakow. The guide at the sites was also very good and took the tour at an acceptable pace. No rushing or lingering too long. There is a lot of ground to cover and the day is long with heavy topics. Be prepared for the emotional weight of this tour.

Amazing tribute to human achievement

The Salt Mines are an incredible tribute to human endevour and a spectacular place to visit. Be prepared for a lot of walking and steps ( all downhill but nevertheless challenging) but the reward at the end is well worth it. Some quite incredible caverns and sculpures and amazing to think it was all carved out by hand over many centuries. Guide was great and headphones provided clear commentary. A must see attraction in Krakow

Absolutely — I’d keep it warm and positive while still being respectful given the subject matter: Our driver was incredibly kind and helpful, which made the entire experience very smooth from Krakow. The tour itself was extremely educational and informative. Our guide did a great job explaining the history and providing context throughout the visit. It’s obviously a very heavy and emotional place to visit, but I’m grateful we had the opportunity to learn more about the history firsthand. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Krakow who wants to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau with a knowledgeable guide and convenient transportation.

A full fun day! Our guide...

A full fun day! Our guide Kaja was brilliant - funny, informative, friendly and helpful. We loved it all - the traditional village, the cheese and vodka tasting, the funicular and mountain views and the amazing thermal baths. We knew what to expect at each stage thanks to Kaja. Our driver was great too - great pickup and smooth journey.

Great experience and an important one

Picked up from meeting point and taken to the tour at 9.45. It was well put together and had the option to have lunch included (which I would highly recommend). Also take water with you due to the walking (it was a very hot the day when I went) as there are not many facilities. But the tour guide was amazing, informative and knowledgeable. It’s a very important experience that will stay with you long after you are dropped back off.

Peter is a star. Thank you for me.

I couldn’t do the salt mine because I’m I’ve got mobility problems and then when we were in Auschwitz, I tripped and fell and had to go to the hospital our guide peter was fabulous. He was incredibly helpful very patient. He had other people look after but he took care of me in a first class way, and I can’t recommend him highly enough so please thank him for me.

Auschwitz Guided Tour with Minivan Hotel Pickup from Krakow

Appropriately somber and very educational

Our driver, Eugene, was very patient with us as I apparently gave him the wrong hotel name (there are more than 1 hotels in Krakow with the same name) for a very early morning pickup. The pickup was supposed to have been around 7 am, but they had to change it to 5:30 due to the demands of the museum. Once we got to Auschwitz, our instructions were very clear which is always nice with these tours. He handed us off to Anna who escorted us through Auschwitz and then Birkenau. She was very knowledgable about both and told us that her grandfather was part of the rescue medical team that went into Birkenau after liberatlon to try and help the remaining survivors. Admittedly, Auschwitz is trying to process thousands of visitors every day, but that part of the tour felt rushed. We had to quickly move through some of the blocks, and I don't blame this on her but rather on the sheer need to process that many visitors.

Auschwitz-Birkenau & Salt Mines

It's a very long day, and about 15,000 steps. Auschwitz-Birkenau was a difficult trip in terms of the history, but they do service to those who died and are so respectful. Salt mines were interesting but again a lot of walking so be prepared. Well worth it - we included lunch with our ticket and all agree that was also well worth.

Great, informative tour, well organised, great price.

Efficient and well organised. We arrived and departed on time, no issues with any instructions from our guide. The bus was comfortable and air conditioned which was great as it was 33 degrees C on the day of our visit. The only minor issue was that the video player wasn't working so we couldn't watch the introductory film ahead of the visit, I'm not sure how much this adds to the visit but we didn't feel like we needed it as the tour itself was really informative. Recommended, would use this Tour Operator again without hesitation. Thanks!

Bridget the Tour Guide

Visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau was one of the most moving and emotional experiences I’ve ever had. It’s a place that everyone should visit at least once to truly understand the scale of the atrocities that took place and to honour the memory of those who suffered. Our guide, Bridget, was exceptional. She was incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and respectful throughout the tour. She shared the history in such a powerful and engaging way, helping us understand not just the facts, but the human stories behind them. Her guidance made the experience even more meaningful, and she answered every question with care and sensitivity. Although it was a deeply heartbreaking visit, I’m grateful to have experienced it. It is something that will stay with me forever, and I cannot recommend this tour and Bridget highly enough.
