What are people saying about Krakow

Great insight into Zakopane region
The transport took roughly 1.5hrs each way (departing Krakow), to and from Zakopane. My guide, Kacper, was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. He was a great driver too! The weather on this day (Tuesday 29th September) was perfect so you could see the mountains and take in the surroundings. Went on the cable car which is a must on this trip as the views are stunning. Make sure you check the weather before you go - it has to be a sunny clear day otherwise I feel it would be a wasted trip tbh. The other stops Kacper made gave a great insight into life in Zakopane region. Any question you asked of him, he knew the answer. Had 3 hours to wander Zakopane myself and get some lunch. Kacper recommended a few spots and I chose Goralski Brower. It had very nice views of the mountains although what I chose to eat, the broth with noodles, was disappointing. But the Aperol spritz made up for it! In all honesty, I wish I’d have stayed overnight in this region so I could have explored a lot more and maybe ventured a little further up the mountains. If you get the chance to do this, I think it would be worth it.

Auschwitz tour
A great experience that everyone has to do. Great tour guide who was informative and helpful all day. The tour was packed with all the right stops and information to get a feel of what really happened. Enough time to see and take everything in, but not feel rushed around.

A Sobering Experience
Standing in Auschwitz was sobering in a way nothing I'd read or watched had prepared me for. Our guide was exceptional: deeply knowledgeable, respectful, and careful with every word. The history was told with the weight it deserves, and it's something I'll carry with me for the rest of my life. If you're in Kraków, go. All other tours are just that, tours.🕯️

Long day but worth it
Salt mines were amazing. Yes, you have to walk down almost 400 steps. Not bad doing it but the next day - ouch - and I am in good shape. The concentration camps are somewhere everyone should visit. Never forget. Our guides were great - very informative. My only negative is that the day was very long with no lunch stop (other than vending machine). Would recommend bringing your own sandwich!

Well-connected by road and public transport, Krakow is a perfect launch point for discovering other towns and cities in Poland. While you could set out on your own, booking an excursion that takes you around the country will help relieve the stress of planning. Day trips from Krakow include World War II-related sites—such as a former Nazi-operated concentration camp—and a UNESCO World Heritage-listed salt mine. It’s also possible to discover outstanding mountain scenery with a visit to the resort town of Zakopane in the Polish countryside, followed by a soak in the healing waters of a thermal bath complex.
