Our guide and driver Shazoma was terrific. Spoke English well, knew about all the sites, where to go in the city and good places to eat. I would recommend him especially and this tour to anyone who wants to see Tokyo. He will tailor your trip to whatever you want to do.

This was a fantastic tour. Muneeb was our guide and he was awesome, you should request him when you book this tour. Upon starting our day we immediately threw him some curveballs and asked if we could modify the agenda, he was happy to oblige and ensure we toured what we wanted to see and some other special recommendations he made. At several stops, including the fish market her parked the car and gave us a guided tour. He was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the day, including finding a great lunch spot. This was an all day 10 hour tour and we enjoyed every minute. We traveled with another couple and all had a great time! Highly recommend!

We enjoyed this tour very much. Our driver was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed seeing the various Temples, Shrines, Tori’s and markets. Unfortunately, our driver was ill, but he claimed it was hay fever. A few days later, 3 of the 4 of us became sick too. We wish we had a driver who was healthy as three of us are now struggling to enjoy our vacation.

We had. A fantastic, 5 star full day tour with Shazoma as our guide. He’s very personable, extremely knowledgeable and speaks fluent English without any accent (we’ve had guides who were hard to understand). We customized the suggested itinerary as we had already visited some of the aread and along with Shazoma’s suggestion and we saw and learned a lot. We wished we could have had him for our next day’s tour.

Our guide was wonderful. We had a change in mobility requirements and our guide crafted a new schedule of activities for us. We saw so many great sites and ate too much amazing food. He took photos and even share IPhone camera tips for us to use. He was professional & personable. I given him excellent recommendations across all areas. We had a wonderful full day private tour of Tokyo with our guide Bek. There were six of us including three seniors and a 9 year old child.
We got to see all the sites on our wish list and he provided lots of information about each stop.
He’s soft spoken and very kind.
My husband has mobility issues and Bek was very mindful about guiding us so he could participate as much as possible.

We had an absolutely incredible experience yesterday.
To say we were impressed would be an understatement—Mac left us completely speechless. His management of every site we visited was seamless, and his deep knowledge of the historical background of each location was fascinating. We were also incredibly impressed by his linguistic skills; being able to communicate so effectively in multiple languages truly enhanced the experience.
Mac’s expertise and hospitality made us fall completely in love with Tokyo and Japan. Even though we have just started our visit, we already can't wait for the next time we return.

Unfortunately, my experience ended up feeling like a bait and switch since the tour company, Asoko, was unwilling to give any compensation for their failure to provide the guided tour I had reserved a month in advance, and I was forced into an inferior tour I would not have chosen. They didn't notify me that they couldn't provide the tour until less than 3 days before our scheduled date, and asked me to accept the driver-only tour instead. They offered to refund 10,000 yen to make up for the difference in cost between the two kinds of tours, but no discount for their failure to provide the original tour. Moreover, when I checked the prices, I found that the driver-only tour is almost 15,000 yen less than the guided tour, yet Asoko originally only offered to refund 10,000 yen until I pointed out their inflated charge. By the time they notified me that they didn't have a guide it was too late to make alternate arrangements, so we reluctantly accepted the driver-only tour. Our experience was exactly as other reviewers have reported: a competent, polite and punctual driver who used the fewest words possible to answer our questions and only spoke if we prompted him with a question. We were very disappointed to not have a guide for our tour, but even more disappointed that Asoko didn't demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction by giving a discounted driver-only tour, even when I politely requested it. I understand that unforeseen things happen that can prevent a company from fulfilling its obligation to a customer. But if the company is truly sorry for the situation, it should demonstrate that by offering compensation such as a discounted price or added value. What makes it feel like a bait and switch is when the company does what Asoko did: promise a product that it can't deliver and replace it with an inferior product the customer did not want, at full price. I would not recommend using this UAE-based company that failed to demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction. Instead, I would choose one of the Japan-based companies that offer informative driver-guides for not much more than this company's driver-only tours, whose drivers rarely speak.

Regarding the driver-guide issue, we would like to clarify that the originally assigned driver-guide unfortunately became unwell shortly before your tour. Because we also prioritize our guests’ health and safety, we offered an alternative English-speaking driver who could still manage your itinerary and transportation, though not provide the same guided experience at each stop.
We also sincerely apologize regarding the refund confusion. At the time, our dispatch team member handling your case was newly hired and mistakenly referenced our older pricing structure, where the driver-guide difference was previously ¥10,000. Due to recent fuel and operational cost increases, the correct current difference is ¥15,000. This oversight was an internal error on our side, and once identified, we corrected it and refunded you the full ¥15,000 difference.
We completely understand your disappointment, especially since you booked the experience well in advance expecting a guided service. As a further gesture of goodwill, we would still like to offer an additional 25% refund for the inconvenience caused. We will coordinate this with our management team and connect with you once processed.
We would also like to clarify that Asoko is a Japan-based company. While we do have satellite offices internationally for customer support and operations, our tours and services are managed within Japan.

Unfortunately, our guide was not Japanese and knew little of the sights listed in the program. We expected that, by paying extra for the “guide”. that he would be somewhat knowledgeable about where we were visiting and we wouldn’t have to look up information on our own. We have all enjoyed excursions by Viator in the past and were very disappointed in this tour.

My husband and I have come to love Viator private tours of cities we have never explored before. Our day in Tokyo with Jiro was no different. Jiro was right on time and prepared right down to supplying umbrellas for the very rainy morning. He was a wealth of information on Tokyo and Japanese history, and offered tips and suggestions for the following day when we were exploring on our own. He was sensitive to our interests as well as our possible needs. The day was very comfortable and enjoyable.
We spent from 9-5 with Jiro and saw many areas of the beautiful city of Tokyo such as the beautiful park that included the Meiji temple, the fish market, the Imperial Palace garden area, Tokyo Bay, the statue of liberty, Rainbow bridge, and so much more.
I would suggest a Tokyo Viator private tour, especially with Jiro. You will not be diasappointed.

This was a great experience to see more of Tokyo. As a solo traveller, it was great having a guide that was so knowledgeable. Zoma was the best guide I’ve ever experienced in my years travelling, he catered to my interests and was overall so fun to explore Tokyo with. Truly made the trip memorable. Four of us took a day trip with Shazoma. This guy is amazing, easily surpassing any expectations we had. Zoma was completely flexible to any of our requests, and was more of a member of our group than a guide. His English was so good that I thought he had spent much of his life in the States. We were able to eat, sightsee, shop, and laugh, making it an amazing and truly memorable experience. Don’t miss this one, you’ll be very pleased.

Emon was our guide in Tokyo. He did a GREAT job showing us what we were interested in seeing! I don't think we missed a thing! I would highly recommend him for any days you have to spend in Tokyo. He had a lot of knowledge of the historical sights we visited, and was and entertaining host!

This is advertised as customizable, but we were not contacted till the night before and never asked our preferences. When the driver arrived, he was unhappy we had opinions about the itinerary and even argued with us about our preferred stops. He was unfamiliar with some typical sightseeing areas. The entire point of a driver for us was to avoid extra walking, and we were frequently dropped blocks away from stops, even after explaining ahead of time my son had a broken ankle. No preparation or suggestions for limiting walking were offered, even though we easily found accessibility accommodations online ourselves while driving to most sights. The worst was being dropped in the middle of a busy street and told to walk down an active traffic lane for a full city block because the sidewalk was on the far side of a barrier. We were literally playing a terrifying game of frogger with cars, then arrived at the destination to find it had a designated drop off roundabout right out front. We asked the guide to pick us up there after our visit, and still he parked down the block and told us to walk. After this interaction, and his staunch avoidance of "official" parking areas, we grew suspicious of his status as an authorized driver. He was also clueless about the details of sights we were seeing, opening hours, any history or background info, and displayed a disinterested and sometimes contrary attitude. He was not Japanese, but Bangladeshi, and the local experience we hoped for was nonexistent. His person and the van he drove were both a little less tidy then professional. Taxis/uber would have been cheaper and since nothing else of value was offered, I would save the money and avoid this company.

First, we want to clarify that the service is designed to be customizable, and we normally coordinate preferences prior to the trip or through the WhatsApp group created before service. We’re sorry if this coordination felt insufficient in your case.
Regarding drop-off points, in Japan, drivers must strictly follow traffic and stopping regulations, especially in busy city areas. In many locations, stopping directly in front of entrances is not permitted, and drivers are required to use designated or legal stopping zones—even if this requires a short walk. Safety is always a priority, and we regret if any moment felt uncomfortable.
We are especially sorry to hear about your son’s condition. Had we been fully informed in advance, we could have planned more suitable stops and routes to better accommodate mobility needs.
We also take seriously your comments about the driver’s attitude and vehicle condition. This is not the standard we aim to provide, and we are addressing this internally with our team.
