Doing a tour instead of just walking around made it much more meaningful! Miroslav shared with us that he was new, and we never would have known – he was like an old pro! Well-prepared, organized, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. (In fact, a couple overheard him and asked if they could join the tour. He handled it graciously – which I appreciated since we had booked a private tour - although that said much about how impressed they were with what they heard!) And at the end, I had trouble getting Internet access, and he actually called our boat tour and walked us over there. He went above and beyond!

Great overview of Kotor and Montenegro history. Our ship tender situation made us run late, but our guide was flexible and very kind about rescheduling to a time that worked for us. Great sense of humor and very knowledgeable about the Montenegro history. Highly recommend.

The Private Kotor Walking Tour - Rick Steves was the perfect introduction to Kotor. Our local guide, Ivan, possessed all of the attributes deserving of a five-star rating: punctuality, knowledgeable, flexibility, and friendliness. We had a wonderful guide, who gave us exactly the right amount of information on what the Old Town of Kotor had to show, as well as some general information on Montenegro.
The duration is just right, allowing you to get a feeling about the area, and then allowing you to further explore whatever you felt like getting more details on.

Nikola was an outstanding guide—knowledgeable, engaging, and easy to talk to. We learned so much about Kotor’s history, culture, and both past and present politics, giving us a deeper perspective on the city and Montenegro. Arriving by tender was dramatic, and the first view of this cool medieval city was unforgettable.

Our private tour guide, Marina, was fluent in English and being a local was very knowledgable about KOTOR. It’s a charming walled city. Her stories, particularly about the post in the center square, were enjoyable to learn. At the end of our tour, Marina gave us some great advice about trying a couple of local pastries that were amazing!

Viator always provide excellent guides and Djuka was no exception - he must be the best guide in Kotor and maybe the best guide in all of Montenegro. Wonderful English and a good sense of humour
One point to bear in mind if you are booking this as part of a cruise holiday; if you are told you'll be met at the sea gate it is NOT the main gate out of the terminal, it is a gate in the town wall, roughly 100 metres away (through an underpass to cross the busy road and then straight ahead - look for a cream opening in the old town wall. It's easy to find but the name is misleading

This was one of the best walking tours we have taken! Our tour guide, Jelena, was awesome! She was so knowledgable about her city. She provided us with lots of inside information and even recommended some restaurants for us to eat. Wear good walking shoes for the cobble stone walkways, water and cool clothing as it get hot. This tour is a great way to get to know Kotor. The town is small so there is not a lot of walking but the roads are uneven. Make sure you have cash on hand for any incidentals, many vendors do not take Credit Cards. I would recommend this highly, especially Jelena as your tour guide.
