What are people saying about Tulum

Highly recommended private tour with Alejandro and Jose
I booked a private tour of Tulum and Coba ruins with Viator for July 28, 2026 for my boyfriend and myself. Alejandro and Jose were excited to pick us up promptly and were extremely accommodating. Jose did an excellent job o navigating while Alejandro briefes us about the trip. During the drive, Alejandro gave us an informative masterclass of the Mayan culture's ways of life along with visual aids to make the information come alive. He has an indepth understanding of the advanced recording, timekeeping and mathematical systems of the Mayan people. Alejandro showed us housing structures, temples and paintings. We were in awe of his wealth of experience and knowledge. He dialoged with us to answer all of our questions into the past and how it connects with the present. Through his eyes, we learned so much and it was apparent rhat his passion for teaching has lifted his learners to higher levels of understanding. He offered us to climb Nohoch Mul, one of the only preserved ruins that vistors can access. We did so enthusiastically and he offered to record our photos for posterity. Alejandro was informative about the history of each ruin, specifically pointing out the development of the ball courts in Coba. We learned more in one session with Alejandro than I had learned in my previous trips to archeological sites combined. He was extremely fluent in English which we appreciated very much. We stopped for a buffet lunch at a wonderful restaurant in Coba. The cuisine and service were both excellent. I cannot thank Alejandro enough for the excellent tour and Jose for driving. With all of our gratitude-LeeAnn Farmer

Cenote Tour with Eduardo
This is a private tour that includes an underground cenote and an open cenote (in our experience). The underground cenote is a unique & incredible adventure, but maybe not a great idea for people who experience claustrophobia or don't enjoy caves. Eduardo is a fantastic tour guide, pointing out small details one would otherwise miss if not familiar with the caves (silk worms, calcified tree roots, etc). The cenotes he took us to are not popularly travelled. However, they are peaceful, relaxing, and beautiful. The underground cenote requires more physical work to get through, but is not difficult. The open cenote is swim/snack/relax at will. Our guide, Eduardo: He's knowledgeable about the cenotes, and clearly loves the environment he both works in and protects. His demeanor is friendly in a familiar way, making the trip feel like you're hanging out with a friend versus being a tourist. My husband and I had a great time exploring the cenotes, and he was a large contribution to that. Thank you, Eduardo! (From Walker & Grace)

A great water adventure!
We enjoyed visiting the 3 cenotes all with different personalities. We were blessed to have a private tour with Summer. She was very patient in answering our questions and knowledgeable with the information and history of the cenotes. She was very easy to talk to and natural in sharing her adventures.

Trip of a Lifetime
Absolutely the most incredible tour with multiple awesome experiences. Coba ruins are awesome, you can climb one of the temples, but there's practically a whole city there to explore, and it's quiet, shady, very nice. We got to bike in there, too which was a surprise but definitely beat walking! We got a welcoming blessing ceremony by a Mayan elder and then to see wild spider and howler monkeys up close which was incredible and then zip lined and canoed across a beautiful lake. Then we swam in an incredible cenote which was beautiful and mysterious and only the few of us on the tour. Finally we had lunch with Mayan household that also runs a wildlife sanctuary where they show you the animals (and can even pet a few, my daughter was totally smitten with the faun, of course. And our guide, Santiago was totally chill and very knowledgeable and able to help people in 5 different languages, perhaps overqualified for the job,but we were really grateful for him. They managed to pick us up from the hotel in PDC and drop us at the ferry for our next leg. All in all worth every cent, an unforgettable trip!
