Best Time Ever

This was so much fun! The instructors were amazing and very knowledgeable. The smell of the freshly shaved wood in the room was cozy and warm and really added to the atmosphere of fun and collaboration. We did have a little difficulty finding the venue location as our map took us to a completely different location but a nice taxi driver was able to direct us well. We really loved the experience and I would definitely recommend this to families looking for a fun and fairly inexpensive activity plus souvenir.

Excellent experience, they thought of everything!

This was an excellent activity and I highly recommend it! They thought of everything starting with sending not just instructions, but a very clear video on how to find their location. As a foreigner, I find the Japanese addresses challenging, and this was super helpful. On arrival, we were provided with traditional Japanese jackets to protect our clothes. There was also water and a snack available. First the staff were introduced with a brief bio and then a little history and background was presented which I found very informative. We each selected the type of knife we wanted to work on (there was a reasonable additional fee for upgraded knife), and after clear instructions we got to work. The staff came around frequently to check our technique and progress. Ru and Zac were the enthusiastic and encouraging in their feedback. After we achieved the desired sharpness (now knowing what to look for), we moved on to customizing the wood handle. I’ve never used a wood burning tool before, but it was just like using a pen; super easy. My one suggestion for this portion of the class would be to offer a list of suggested options for what to engrave, for people like me who have trouble deciding. At the end of class, there is an option to purchase one of two sharpening kits to take home. We had a little hiccup with my purchase, but they went the extra mile to make sure I was a happy customer in the end. Absolutely one of my favorite activities while we were in Tokyo, and I have a lasting souvenir, and a new skill to remind me of this wonderful experience!

Amazing fun memory at ENNE Ring Asakusa

My girlfriend and I had such a fun experience making rings at ENNE Ring Asakusa. It was one of the highlights of our visit to Asakusa, and we left with a truly special memory to take home. Bella made the entire experience even better. She was so sweet, welcoming, and fun throughout the process, making us feel comfortable and excited as we created our rings together. We love that our rings were made from Meiji-era coins, dating from 1862 to 1912. They are not just beautiful rings, but meaningful souvenirs with history behind them. Every time we look at them, we will remember our time in Asakusa. Highly recommend this experience for couples or anyone looking for a unique, personal, and memorable activity in Tokyo.

Great experience to learn about Japanese culture

Isabella was super friendly and a great teacher for my first time making chopsticks :) all the tools are provided and you can jump right in choosing between different wood types. I learned about the different kinds of wood which was super interesting!! I loved the whole process. Also super cool you can choose to engrave something on your chopsticks and choose the kanji that spell your name. Great experience to learn something about Japanese culture!

Wonderful, Fun Experience!

Hyoga Sensei was our instructor. He is very kind, knowledgeable, patient, good-natured. Sensei is an excellent teacher. His English pronunciation was clear and precise. The entire experience of being transformed in our uniforms to learning about the philosophy and history of ninjas and samurai to practicing the principles and gestures of ninja to using the weapons was beyond our expectations. Highly recommend!

Fun DIY experience!

The experience was very fun! It had a good edutainment aspect of value that I enjoyed. The ceramic was pre-broken for us to choose, I wish there were more style varieties to choose from. The instructions were very clear and the video was also easy to follow. I think it would be good to extent the estimated experience time to 1.25 hrs as it seems like people took extra time to create their kintsugi plates and ask questions. I think the value of the experience was quite worth it and they also sell a kit you can take home to try out.

We had a great time with Taka-san and his wife. Their hospitality went beyond simply teaching us a few authentic japanese recipes and culture. It was their warmth and kindness that stuck with us the most long after the experience. The thoughtful gifts for the kids as well as their patience in answering never-ending questions and sharing their knowledge will be forever cherished.
