I had no pretensions of knowing the city in all its details, indirectly forced by the very recent tourist imperative: “Absolutely a must-see”! The famous attractions to admire at a glance! As soon as I arrived in the Basque Country, I first wanted to breathe the air and try to adapt to the new situation. Too bad, that's how I missed the opportunity! I have no regrets. On the other hand, by walking a little and sitting on the numerous benches in the historic center, I was able to feel that the Atlantic climate is mild and a bit rainy; the local people are calm and convey a lot of security when moving through the city streets and, above all, pay a lot of attention to others, ready to help immediately as soon as there is a need, with discretion. Wow! A feeling that I then found again upon setting foot in other locations in the Basque Country, as if it were a cliché of life common to all its inhabitants. Could it be because San Sebastian is located on the Camino de Santiago, the Camino del Norte, passing through the Bay of La Concha, one of the most beautiful places in the area? You have to go to San Sebastian with this spirit, without historical and cultural worries, and that is how the city welcomes you into its arms. The rest comes later!

Erich was great, perfect overview of culture, history, language, and yes…..the best spots for the best food and drink. Not only did he provide a great tour but followed up with recommendations for restaurant and missed gems. I would highly recommend his tour your first day in San Sebastián!
