The Chef, Mattin knew his stuff really well and did a good job demonstrating. He went over basic knife skill which to me was a complete waste of time (I think most people signing up for a cooking class already know this safe methodology). The other aspects of the class were spot on. My only disappointment comes from Basque cooking technique not from the class. It turns out this style of cooking uses blending food flavors for piquing the taste buds much more than using spices; the only spice used was salt. How to blend the flavors to accomplish this would be far too broad a subject for this 3-hour class, but I got enough information from the class to want more. Basque pintxos food is built on and highlights this technique but you cannot learn it from eating them unless you have some understanding of this in the first place. Since we had pintxos before the class it made me aware of this and we did spend 2 more meals eating pintxos to get a better understanding of the mixing and highlighting flavors we saw in the brief discussion of pintxos in the class. I highly recommend the class, but don't expect to learn how to build Basque flavors; that is a much more complex subject.

Sebastian was an excellent tour guide! Very kind and knowledgeable about the city, its food, and its vibrant culture. The tour is very well designed to give you a flavor for the local cuisine (and bars to come back and visit later if you have time). I strongly recommend doing the tour on your first day in San Sebastián - getting a guide and recommendations for restaurants early on your trip is crucial for visiting this city. Four best bites from the tour - ropa vieja omelette, scallop with green curry, pork carpaccio, and smoked olives. Trust me!

We had an incredible day exploring Bilbao, the Guggenheim, and Gaztelugatxe, and a huge part of what made it so memorable was our guide, Alby. Alby was genuinely personable, deeply knowledgeable about the Basque countryside, and incredibly kind throughout the day. Nothing felt scripted or rushed; it just felt like exploring a beautiful region with someone who truly knows and loves it. He’s the kind of guy you’d love to sit down and grab a drink with after the tour wraps up. If you're considering this day trip, ask for Alby, we couldn't recommend him enough!

A fantastic way to explore San Sebastián! The city is exceptionally bike-friendly, featuring dedicated, well-marked bike paths that make riding safe and seamless all the way around. Our tour guide, Alain, was incredible—engaging, knowledgeable, and great with the group. It was such an enjoyable experience that even our 19-year-old son loved every minute of it. Highly recommended for all ages!

We had an amazing experience on our food tour! Our guide, Gonzalo, had a great energy and blended local knowledge with an enthusiasm for the cuisine. I would highly recommend! Our meeting point was easy to find. The walk through the old town was very feasible - it's a compact area! He also gave us amazing tips on other places to dine during our trip. Our only piece of feedback is that the tour description was general, and left us with the impression that our pintxos would be less fish-forward. (Some members in our group were not as enthusiastic about fish, and we went with this tour because its description seemed to include less fishy stops.) That said, Gonzalo was amazing and kind to adapt on the spot, and we recognize that the cuisine in this region is quite obviously heavy on the seafood :) Thank you for this amazing trip highlight! 12 out of 10!

You will learn a lot about the Basque people and the people that currently live there. Bring your camera for a beautiful fuse and comfortable walking shoes. The drive was very relaxing and pleasant. Our tour guide was great. He was very knowledgeable.

Carlos was a fantastic teacher; his love of cooking shows! The class was a very good size (11) of friendly people, making the atmosphere intimate and cheerful. I really was *so* keen to see how to make the famous Basque cheesecake and am eager to try it when I get back home. The cod omelette and hake in green sauce were delicious and the steak with peppers was amazing. The wine was also extremely good. I loved this course ❤️

We enjoyed a lovely day exploring Rioja! Our guide Victor was very knowledgeable, kind and accommodating. Our 11-year-old son was with us and Victor and the wineries were both very welcoming and gave him special juice and snacks and made sure he was included the full time. We went to two family run wineries and lunch in the town of Laguardia, and had a wonderful day and enjoyed getting to know the other family in our tour, too.
