Lovely day in the Tuscan hills
A great trip into the Tuscan hills to try wine and olive oil at 2 locations. Both stops were amazing but I was completely charmed by the hospitality at Tenuta Marceli. The food was delicious and Francesca was radiant and passionate about sharing information about her family’s operations. Tommaso, our guide; was a delight and worked hard to integrate the group in the beginning and engaged each of us too. This was not an easy order as our group was varied in ages and backgrounds. His local knowledge was also appreciated.

Francesco was a great...
Francesco was a great host. He gave us a great overview of the history of the vineyard and the wine making process. He walked us through and had us sample a variety of wines they make and served us cheese, meats, olives, bread and a fabulous potato frittata. Would highly recommend this tour!

The E-bikes made the bike...
The E-bikes made the bike riding very easy and fun. Our guide, Luca, was very friendly and informative and looked after us while riding. We had a great time at the winery where everyone was very friendly. The wine was great and we were stuffed after the lunch.

Francesca and her family...
Francesca and her family were absolutely wonderful! I truly can’t imagine a better truffle-hunting experience. Out of all our travels in Italy, this was the unforgettable highlight. You’re welcomed into Francesca’s family home, lived in for over six generations, where you immediately feel like part of the family. Then you head out onto their beautiful land to hunt for truffles with their sweet, energetic dog (Francesca even provides boots!). After the hunt, you return to their home, where Francesca and her mother prepare a delicious homemade meal featuring the truffles you found together. 10/10 recommend!

Amazing trip.
The experience was great. We had Emilia as our tour guide and she was incredible. So full of knowledge, insight and passion for the region - it was infectious. We loved our trip to San Gimingano, our only criticism is it wasn't enough time for us to do everything. Gorgeous little town that is well worth the visit for the incredible building, delicious ice cream, and stunning views of the Tuscan region.
We then headed to the winery. Let me be clear, the "light lunch" was a full three course meal including tasting platter, lasagne and then a beef and vegetables dish. It was all delicious but way more than we expected, so don't fill up before hand.
Then we had a relaxing trip back with a couple of more pointers about the region before returning to Lucca and home. A really great tour that went quick because of how enjoyable it was. Thank you Emilia!

The historic center of...
The historic center of Lucca is very welcoming and walkable. If you want to see the famous city wall surrounding the old city center, rent a bike for 5 euros and spend an hour riding all the way around the level and beautiful walkway. The walking tour guide I had was very informative and pleasant, so it helped me appreciate Lucca better than if I just walked around on my own.

Worth every euro
Fantastic tour with a great guide leading us through the 'tastiest' parts of this beautiful city via 8, yes 8, stops for food and drink from genuine outlets / producers. Although I was travelling solo, the rest of this group were such a lovely bunch that our finale 2 course lunch felt just like a group of friends. In short, you get what you pay for - quality food and drink in a beautiful location

Beautiful places to visit!
We really enjoyed our tour to Siena and San Gimignano, both towns are so beautiful and unique to visit, the wine tour was also very enjoyable. Our tour guide Tanya was very knowledgeable and shared so much with the group as we traveled to our destinations. She was a great driver too!!

A great way to get to...
A great way to get to Pisa avoiding the traffic you get to ride the tracks by the river and aqueduct. We used the bikes to see more of Pisa than just the area near the Tower which was very busy. The return route was mainly on minor roads in total it took us 3:30 for the return route. The bikes were comfortable and still had 50% battery when we finished so don’t worry about using turbo if you need it. Overall an enjoyable da

An absolute must
Cinque Terre by minibus and boat. Roberto was a brilliant safe driver, picking us up from Lucca to the first village. Marta provided so much information on the history of Lucca and the Cinque Terre. Then making sure we made each ferry to our final pick up point. Well done both.

Loved it!!!
Tomasso was WONDERFUL! Everything about the vineyard and farm and it’s history was explained so perfectly. This vineyard is owned by a family that has been growing grapes since 1896. They completely do the wine-making by hand, and it’s organic. There are 4 wines you try with a tagliere of meats, cheese, and bread. The wine was delicious! Tommaso had us each introduce ourselves on the van so instead of being talked at, we became acquainted with each other. It was so much fun because we were from all over the world and it was a wonderful way to get to know each other. I’ve been on other wine tours and they simply don’t touch the experience I had this time! Grazie mille, Tomasso!!!
