Little hidden gem
Kim was exceptional, super friendly, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend to anyone who want too see and experience some out of the beaten path. It was worth it. Kim even put a special touch and stopped to get tea and baklava. Yummy. Very special trip.

She took the tour at our pace. We had just landed that morning after a 11 hour flight, so it was so welcoming. It was very adaptable to what we were feeling or not feeling.

Nice afternoon activity...
Nice afternoon activity to see parts of Istanbul other than mosques in old city. Our guide Jon was knowledgeable and flexible. We had an “all-aboard” time on our cruise ship and Jon insured that we got to Galataport on time,

There are terrific views...
There are terrific views from the top of Galata Tower! Seeing the Fener/Balat neighborhoods provided a different perspective of the city, away from the high tourist traffic areas. Our tour guide was phenomenal and very knowledgeable on the history of the city.

A perfect tour through Galata, Balat and Fener
The tour was fantastic, especially thanks to our guide Ergil, who was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable.
We began at the Galata Tower, enjoying a beautiful panoramic view of Istanbul. Then we explored the historic neighborhoods of Balat and Fener, full of colorful streets and rich multicultural history.
A very pleasant walk combining great views, culture, and authentic local atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Good tour to interesting places
Our tour guide, Tonga, was very knowledgeable and experienced. We particularly liked seeing all of the passages that we normally would’ve never encountered. He knew a lot of interesting things about every neighborhood we walked through. He also tailored the tour to some of our preferences, which was greatly appreciated. We are not that interested in the various churches other than the first two we saw, so he would show them to us from the outside, but not make us go in. I highly recommend this tour as you will see places you most likely will not if you try to do it on your own. The only thing I would say is you have to be somewhat fit and able to walk on cobblestone streets including up hillls and some stairs. It is not overly exerting, but you definitely needs some stamina. I highly recommend Tonga as your tour guide. He speaks great English and is quite personable which made it even better.

Fantastic tour with super knowledgeable guide
The tour was fantastic—our guide Erol was extremely knowledgeable about historic facts and dates, explaining how much the city has changed while taking us to great spots for photos. Travelling by tram and ferry was smooth because he had everything perfectly organised, and we even stopped to enjoy some delicious sweets along the way. Even though it was low season and we were the only ones on the tour, he never rushed; he took his time, explained everything in detail, and made the whole experience feel personal and memorable. Highly recommended and fantastic guide

This was fine. It wasn't...
This was fine. It wasn't an expensive tour, so a good value for money but much less time than I budgeted for. It was fun to take the little tram and learn more about the history of the area.

Not bad
Great tour. It was much shorter than advertised and the sights are a bit not the same. But nonetheless the tour guide was friendly and knowledgable.

Erol was a great guide...
Erol was a great guide and took us to some very interesting places we would never have found by ourselves. He also gave us a good overview of where the locals go and what they eat.

When to visit

The Galata Bridge is a must-see for all first-time visitors to Istanbul.
The bridge is a great spot for watching the ferry boats crossing the Bosphorus, and taking in the city’s mosque-dotted skyline at sunset.
Wear comfortable shoes as you walk across the bridge and through the city.
