What are people saying about El Salvador

I had a wonderful time...
I had a wonderful time exploring the archeological sites with my guides, and though the weather is unpredictable we made the best of our time on cerro verde. It was great to have a more authentic experience of what El Salvador is like today, while simultaneously learning about its past.

Was definitely worth it!...
Was definitely worth it! Just be prepared for a little hike up some stairs. Was picked up from my hotel at 8:30am and got back by 3:30pm. We stopped at a restaurant right before going to the national park. Rafael was a great tour guide! Communicated in both English & Spanish.

Francisco is the BEST GUIDE
It is a very long day of driving but if you have a professional driver, like Francisco, you will see the drive as part of the adventure. The other important thing is to really be interested in Mayan ruins. Copan is awe inspiring & the amazing guide we had there, Gladys, filled our senses with the intense history of the site, deep explanation of the intricate carvings, Mayan culture and archaeological history - woven in and amongst stories that link the past and the present. Francisco, our expert driver, was so polite, kind and knew how to handle the multiple border crossings with ease. We felt so safe with him & that was of paramount importance. It's an all-day adventure unlike anything we've done, plus we were driven through the bottom third of Guatemala & to take in the differences between El Salvador and Guatemala was so fascinating. Highly recommend if you are into Mayan culture and ruins. Copan is truly one of a kind.

Hard hike but worth it
Weather was perfect and our tour guide (Diego) was amazing. Very knowledgeable and kind, even allowed us to do a pig stop on the way back. The hike was tough, definitely underestimated, even reading the reviews felt like it wouldn’t be too bad. The elevation was high and steep with a lot of rocks. Worth it at the top and even the views midway but wear comfortable shoes, bring water, a small jacket because it’s cold but you will eventually take it off from the sweat you get from hiking. Overall would recommend if you are able to make it to the top.

You’ll never be bored in El Salvador, the land of volcanoes with rich indigenous heritage and world-class coffee culture. Sightseeing tours focus on the capital, San Salvador, where you can snack on pupusas between visits to key landmarks and the panoramic rainbow slide. National parks abound here, which means plenty of tours that take you hiking around volcanoes and crater lakes, swimming and cliff jumping by waterfalls, and picnicking at sweeping viewpoints. The variety doesn’t stop there: Other El Salvador tours spotlight impressive Mayan ruins and the colorful cobblestoned towns along the Ruta de Las Flores.
