Furnas tour on Sao Miguel.
Amazing day with outstanding tour guide! We especially enjoyed the lunch experience, eating the stew cooked inside the Furnas alongside local wine.
Loved the whole experience!

Great one-day tour of São Miguel!
A great one-day tour of São Miguel, Açores. Fun, informative visit to Gorreana Tea Factory, and the volcanic Lagoa das Furnas and the town of Furnas with its many sulfur vents were beautiful and fascinating. A great local lunch included, followed by a visit to the beautiful Terra Nostra botanical garden and soaking hot springs. Guide Jen was friendly and very informative. We had a great time!

Wonderfull trip around Ponta Delgada
This tour was amazing, all the sight we visited were worth going to. Our tour guide was very friendly, funny and knowledgeable. She explained a lot about the surroundings and the place we went to. My favourite places was the furnas and the tea plantation. Definitly can recommend this tour.

Amazing tour ! Must do
This tour was a great complement to the West Tour. I highly recommend doing both, as they allow you to see many interesting and different things that complement each other very well.
Once again, our guide Joao was amazing and very attentive to everyone’s needs. The small group and the very clean vehicle also made the experience even better.
Amazing time!

After having to...
After having to unexpectedly cancel a previous booking due to being soaked through in a storm just before reaching the meeting point, Azorean Tales kindly allowed us to rebook with a very short notice. The trip we then had with our guide Carlos was wonderful. We enjoyed the many stories about life on the azores, a delicious lunch and nice explanations on the ananas and tea plantations, and the hot springs. Very full day, but such a nice experience.

Road trip tour
Gonçalo was the best guide we’ve ever had. His ability to add family and community references to different areas and sights made the tour like a fun family road trip complete with laughter and even singing.

Our tour guide José was...
Our tour guide José was awesome. He went out of his way to ensure an enjoyable day for all of us. He also diverted his course to bring us to the church where my great grandmother was baptized. That meant so much to all of us. My whole family had a great day.

A great 3 hours visiting...
A great 3 hours visiting two caves, looking at the volcanic flow formed. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. You do need to be aware the ground is very uneven, the ceilings can be very low and there are steps! Having said that it was amazing to see the caverns and formations. Very beautiful 😍

When to visit

- Admission fees vary for each hot spring complex. If you’re on a budget, Poca da Dona Beija is the best choice.
- There are several guesthouses, hotels, and restaurants in Furnas. Due to the town’s small size, advance booking during peak season is essential.
- The cobblestone streets and uneven terrain in Furnas may make certain sites difficult to access on your own with a wheelchair or stroller; however, some guided tours are wheelchair and stroller accessible.
