The ride takes you on a journey through the forest and along the banks of the Alta River, famous for its salmon fishing. Our family joined their ranks over three decades ago. We have spent the years racing and learning about dogsledding. This knowledge is the foundation of the dog trips that we offer our guests. You’ll get to experience the Arctic countryside, just as it is changing its colours and preparing for the oncoming winter.

Holmen Husky is a racing and breeding kennel with more than forty years behind it. This is not a show put on for visitors — it is a working home built around one animal: the Alaskan husky, the finest long-distance runner alive. No creature on earth covers ground the way these dogs do, day after day, mile after mile. That is what we breed for. That is what we race. It is private — never more than two guests per guide — so nothing is rushed. Afterwards there is time with the dogs, and a fire, drinks and stories in the Lavvo, where you hear what a life given to racing huskies is really like. Short, fast, and honest.
