Beautiful waterfalls
Excellent trip to the stunning waterfalls - Michael our tour guide was very interesting telling us lots of information about the area - explained the tour and pick up times etc. Had enough time to enjoy the waterfalls and a welcome hot chocolate and cake which was included at the nearby hotel. A great excursion - thank you

Wonderful Day Trip from Akureyri.
Interesting and relaxing, the Forest Lagoon Baths were a highlight of our trip! Michael was an excellent guide who was able to miss the crowds at Godafoss Waterfall and was full of interesting facts/information about Icelandic history, culture and way of life. The Waterfall was beautiful, and even better that we had the place to ourselves! Forest Lagoon baths is gorgeous, steamy and relaxing; and truly was the best experience even when it started to rain, the waters were the perfect temperature. Highly recommended tour and even nicer when Saga picked us up and delivered us back to port.

Saw lots of whales up close
Absolute fabulous experience.
Staff extremely helpful answering my pre-activity questions.
Meeting point very easy to find. Suiting up process was well organised - lots of sizes of suits available.
RIB was superb - holds 12 people and you sit/stand on motorbike style seats which was very comfortable.
Loved the speed of the RIB but also the ability to cover a greater area looking for whales.
Our trip started with porpoises, quickly followed by playful minke whales busy feeding and ended with the awesome humpbacks.
Our guide Anna and captain Karen were both superb at spotting the whales and getting us positioned to see them

A Delightful, Comprehensive Day Trip
I highly recommend this tour. Weather prevented us from having more than a single day in Akureyri, and this day-tour enabled us to see most everything we wanted in a day that was full but not rushed. Our guide, Aaron, was wonderful and provided a depth of information on Iceland's nature, history, and contemporary politics. In addition to seeing all of the sights, with excellent descriptions, we also received an education on Icelandic culture, and especially on how it is expressed in the north. The guide was flexible to our needs, and we had adequate time to explore on our own at most of the sites we visited. We could not have asked for more from this trip, we loved each location, but really it was the guide, with his detailed descriptions and discussion of northern Iceland, who made it so wonderful and special. This is an exceptional tour, whether you have only a single day in Akureyri or if you want an overview of the places in the region for further exploration. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. It was a great way to end our trip to Iceland.

Geology class on a bus!
Our guide Jon was funny and kind. He kept us entertained with stories and his knowledge of Iceland’s Geology. The views were amazing and the baths were relaxing - especially since they were our last stop! Slept great that night.
Sit as close to the front of the small bus as you can… the views were somewhat obstructed from the back two rows.

Whale watching Akureyri.
Late December out on fjord is not for the faint hearted but this experience is unique and exciting.
We met the small boat at the dock and were boarded upon showing our tickets. The boat was comfortable with a downstairs seating area and upper area with outside access and better views. You can also have access to the crows nest if you want.
In December it is cold. Very cold. There is no getting away from that. We had layers upon layers and waterproofs and snow boots and we’re still incredibly cold. But we did see whales which made the trip worthwhile.
We travelled for around an hour along the fjord to reach the feeding grounds of the whales but unfortunately didn’t see anything for about another hour. The fjord became very rough at one point and we got soaked as the waves hit the boat. A lot of people were feeling queasy.
Of course this is a wild animal spotting expedition so sightings off the
Whales are not guaranteed. After being out for about two hours the pilot decided to head back, it was then that a tail was spotted out on the water and we were lucky enough to spend the next 45 minutes or so being treated to a wonderful display from various whales, some coming really close to the boat. The experience was almost spiritual and we quickly forget about the harsh conditions.
The journey back to the dock seemed to pass quicker and once we were back on dry land we headed back to our accommodation to warm up.
We were lucky to see the whales which made what could have felt like an endurance test into a memorable, enjoyable experience.

Exceptional day
This was just an outstanding day covering the best of North Iceland in a small group. Siggi was an excellent, engaging and knowledgeable guide explaining everything from folklore to geology, considerate and helpful and an excellent safe driver to boot. I couldn't fault any of this day, best tour I've ever done anywhere. Simply magnificent 👌

A very solid and enjoyable tour
We did this during a cruise stop in Akureyri and were happy with how the day went. Pickup was easy, the pacing was comfortable, and the stops felt well-planned. Goðafoss was impressive, and our guide shared helpful background without overloading us with information. The Lake Mývatn area was interesting and offered a nice variety of scenery.
The tour didn’t feel rushed, and we had enough time at each stop to look around and take photos. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, and everything ran on schedule, which mattered since we had to be back at the ship.
Overall, it was a good, well-organized way to see the highlights in a limited amount of time. We’re glad we did it.

A really fun day trip,...
A really fun day trip, offering history, storytelling and geology all in one! You'll get to learn about volcanoes and lava formations in Iceland. Overall the itinerary is perfect opportunity to learn about how Iceland was formed, and its impact it had on the culture.

A great tour to see and learn about Iceland.
My wife and I had a great time on this tour. We got to learn a lot about Iceland and their people. It was an all day trip that included the falls, volcano, the Dark City to see where trolls live, and a hot springs. The hot springs are not for swimming though. Our guide made sure everyone was comfortable and gave us lots of info at every stop.

Jon - an amazing and informative guide
Jon was an amazing and informative tour guide - loved his knowledge and stories. Overall fun trip, wished we had a bit more time at the Christmas House but Jon gave the allotted time given folks who returned late to the bus at the previous stop. My recommendation is that if someone is late, especially more than 10 minutes, leave them as to not impact the others on the trip!

Vic is great, I learned a...
Vic is great, I learned a lot about Iceland from the local perspective and I loved her personality and youth. Our bus was like new and very high end with large windows, plenty of overhead space, bathroom, etc. I liked the schedule (not too long): see the waterfall, two hours at the bath then a quick stop at Lake Myvatn. There were 3 ships at Akureyri on the day we visited, so you never break away from all the people, but we still loved the experience. They give you the sandwich and bottle of water after the bath and before Lake Myvatn, if you read previous reviews and wondered. Also, there is a cute cafe at the baths if you finish early and want something more, but we spent the entire two hours soaking.

Akureyri sits in Iceland’s northern fjords, making it the ideal starting point to explore what’s known as the Diamond Circle, which includes Lake Mývatn, formed by a volcanic eruption, the waterfalls of Goðafoss and Dettifoss, and the whale-watching town of Húsavík. With its hot springs, bubbling mud pools, and lava formations, this region will fascinate even the most seasoned traveler. Akureyri day trips ensure you can experience these diverse landscapes with ease, thanks to organized transport and guides sharing history and folklore along the way.
