Super fun!! Yatzel was an awesome tour guide. The hike was easy & the swimming was super refreshing. Yatzel took all of our group photos so we could enjoy the moment instead of thinking about capturing it. 1000% recommend this tour!!

My mom and I had a great time exploring El Yunque. Our guide, Yatzel, was friendly, knowledgeable, and right on time. Since neither of us is very outdoorsy, we really appreciated how patient he was and how comfortable he made us feel throughout our time with him. He shared a lot of interesting information and made the whole experience fun and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Yatzel from Hiking Hangeo Tours. Originally, our tour was scheduled for Monday, but our toddler wasn’t feeling well. Yatzel was incredibly understanding and graciously rescheduled us to Wednesday without any hassle. That level of flexibility already set the tone. To make things even more special, he personally came to lead our tour and essentially gave us a private experience. His knowledge of El Yunque was impressive, from the ecosystem and local history to hidden spots in the rainforest that we would have never discovered on our own. The pace was perfect for a family with a young child. He made sure we felt safe, comfortable, and never rushed. The natural pool stop was beautiful, and he shared so many interesting insights along the way. Communication before and during the tour was excellent: clear, responsive, and professional. If you’re looking for a personalized, thoughtful, and genuinely memorable rainforest experience, this is it. We truly had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Yatzel and Hiking Hangeo Tours to anyone visiting Puerto Rico. Thank you again for making it such a special day for our family!

My husband and I which are in our late 40s/early 50 decided to do this excursion while visiting Isla Verde. I don’t know how to swim so I’m glad that Viator offers this type of excursion for “everyone”. Yatzel was our tour guide and he was very informative with facts about PR that I didn’t know. Tip - if you have difficulty walking on flat surfaces, you may want to consider not doing this excursion. It can be steep and bumpy in some areas. Also, if you own water shoes or hiking sandals, wear them for this excursion. The small rocks on the trail and under the river can hurt your feet if you’re barefoot. The tour concluded at the food kiosks in Luquillo Beach. The food tasted like it came from my PR mom’s kitchen. The service was excellent too. We had a great time!

Yatzel was great! He communicated prior to our hike so we were prepared. We had comfortable accommodations out to the rainforest. He gave a good balance of cultural information while still leaving time to enjoy the scenery. His pace was perfect for our two small children and he helped point out things on our hike. His lunch recommendation was spot on. He came as a recommendation and we would pass along the same. Awesome time

This was a small group which felt more like friends trekking to the rain forest than a “tour”. The guide, Yatzel was knowledgeable, friendly and fun! It is great to know we now have a friend in Puerto Rico!

Yatzel was a fabulous guide! He was enthusiastic about sharing his broad knowledge of Puerto Rico and its culture. He was very understanding and helpful to one member of our group with vision issues. He was very conscious of safety for all of us and frequently made suggestions to keep us safe. He made suggestions about where to swim and dive in the river based on his knowledge and experience. This adventure was exactly as described.

Lately was absolutely amazing. He was so friendly, organized, and knowledgeable. This was by far was the BEST tour we have taken. He really knows his country and takes great pride in its history. The hike was a little rougher than I anticipated but Yatzel taught us safe ways to get through the harder spots and once we made it to the water it was all worth it. Yatzel took the time to take pictures through out the hike so we could just live in the moment. After the hike he recommended a fantastic restaurant with beautiful views. Awesome Day in Rainforest with Yatzel The time that we spent in the rain forest with Yatzel was so much fun and highly educational. It was not a difficult hike and we appreciated that but really got to experience the beautiful surroundings.
