These guys were great! It was a long tour, full of thrills, fun ocean spray, wonderful scenery, and great snorkeling spots--more than you find with other tours. This is an experience for people in decent shape because of the bumps and bounces along way. No bad backs or pregnant people--that would not be good! It is a large raft, afterall. The staff on board were very thorough with instructions, safety information, and fun conversation and very helpful getting in and out of the boat. Food was very good and fresh! There were many informational sessions as well--history, geology, fun facts of interest. Saw dolphins, schools of fish, turtles, and some saw an eel and shark. Everyone had a great time! Thank you Kanoe and Captain Charlie!

Overall a good experience but with some hiccups

Agnieszka_N, Apr 2026
The end of the tour made up for the initial negative impression. Firstly, the crew didn’t have microphones or speakers, and they spoke very quietly despite the noise from the waves, wind and engine. Secondly, it would have been helpful if they had explained the day's itinerary at the beginning of the tour. The tour lasted 5.5 hours, the first two of which were spent travelling by rafting vessel (keep that in mind, it's not a boat, and you might need to seat on the side) to view a long stretch of lava formations. It might have been interesting if we could have heard what they were saying about them, but if you’re mainly focused on snorkelling, it's better to take a shorter tour. Thirdly, there was no breakfast. The fruit came in a box that was passed from hand to hand without any toothpicks to avoid direct handling, and there were no scones. Two slices of melon is a poor start to the day. (And to get there by 6:30 am from the Kaanapali area, you need to set aside an hour for the taxi ride.) Lunch wasn’t served until four hours later. Unlike on other ships, there was no briefing on how to use a snorkelling mask. The instructor didn’t go into the water and didn't mention what to look for underwater, or what was interesting or unique. They only talked about that after we got out of the water. However, it was worth it to see the underwater world at Molokini Crater — the water was very clear. There were turtles swimming in the water at Makena Beach.

What a thrill!

10/10 experience. Better than expected.

This was a great experience. I did not know that I was going on a rafting boat, which made it that much better because you could go to a little more remote areas that other bigger boats could not go. Captain Brandon and Austin were amazing and added a little touch of humor, which was awesome. Lunch and treats were provided as well as drinks and we were able to go to some amazing places like a vertical coral reef where there are only four places in the world you can experience.

Great tour and super fun!

Super fun and unique! Was really cool to see the lesser known spots and the guide and captain were excellent! Thank you Kanoe and Charlie!

Charlie and Kanoe made this experience awesome! Their humor, local knowledge and passion for what they do made it an excursion to remember! We saw so many things you could not see on other tours and snorkeled in places nobody else were going. And they put us on the turtles which made my daughters trip. Book it!

Awesome south Maui trip

DCCSYR, Apr 2025
Kanoe is an excellent guide and full of dad jokes. Captain Joe was excellent, getting us to prime spots-showing us the south part of the island, great snorkeling spots at Molokini and with sea turtles, and even dolphin and late season whale watching. Our highest recommendation!

Beautiful views, turtles, whales...and a WILD RIDE!

Darren_E, Mar 2025
This trip was absolutely incredible! Captain Charlie and Kanoe were great guides as they were both knowledgeable and funny. Saw multiple whales and swam with turtles. This is also the only company that will take you to the south side of the island to see lava arches and caves, which are so cool. However, this ride is not for the faint of heart as the waves are huge and the ride can be bumpy. Just hold on tight for the best experience in Maui...it's worth every penny.

Fantastic experience!

10/10 recommend!! Charlie and Kanoe were incredible guides! They were knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and funny! The group was small and the raft boat was exhilarating! I sat up front in the “adventure zone.” It was definitely exciting. I do not recommend sitting up front if you aren’t up for excitement and holding on tight! The back will be better for you in that case. This wasn’t just a snorkeling trip. We saw some whales along the way, went to many places to see and learn about the rock formations, beaches, properties, etc., and got 4+ snorkeling spots, culminating with the sea turtles. I recommend having a small waterproof bag that you can keep out with your sunscreen handy. I put my stuff in dry storage and it was less convenient to access. I would just plan a little differently if I’m lucky enough to do this tour again! Do it! You won’t regret it!

The tour guide and our...

The tour guide and our captain were experienced and friendly. We got to scuba dive 4 times throughout the trip which included the front and back portion of the Molokini crater. As long as the day is pleasant, the water will clear and you will get to see a lot of unique fishes, octopuses . I will highly recommend that you do this activity when you visit Maui . You get a glimpse of the Big Island, a few of the nearby and abandoned islands as well as the southern tip of Maui, Mt. Haleakala.

Big adventure

Angela and Captain Joey made sure we had a great time on this adventure. Highly recommend! A bit of wave action sure to windy conditions. Hold onto your hat!

Fun boating and snorkeling adventure

Victoria_S, Jul 2024
This is a fantastic adventure and one of the best things I did on Maui. I had a great time catching air on the ocean waves listening to rock music, while also seeing amazing lava formations and snorkeling sites. Brandon and Angela did a great job making the experience memorable and I learned a lot while having fun. It is also a relatively small group size and as a solo traveler I got to meet new people. I would definitely recommend bringing more than one towel since you get in and out of the water multiple times and the wind can get cold!

Awesome Snorkling

Lee_C, Jun 2024
Captain Mikey & Kanoe were awesome!!!! Being able to see 5 islands at one point of the ocean is phenomenal and the history of the sea caves is super interesting. 3 different stops of snorkeling was so fun to see different fish at each and turtles too. This trip is not for the faint of heart. It is definitely a rough ride at points, so if you are looking for a trip that you stay on the boat to stay dry it’s not for you, everyone gets wet. Kanoe keeps it lighthearted with all his goofy jokes This was my daughters favorite excursion that we have been on.

Wonderful
