I highly recommend choosing the 2-night option—it’s quite a long journey to and from Istanbul, but definitely worth it. Çanakkale is a lovely place to stay overnight.
High praise to the tour guides on both days, especially Charlie—it was such an enjoyable experience listening to the tales of Troy. He was an intriguing storyteller: fun, engaging, and, most importantly, fluent in English, making history and legends easy to understand.

Amazing 2 day tour, saw many sights in Gallipoli, canakkale and Troy, the guides were excellent, Burak in the Gallipoli tour was excellent, would definitely recommend going on this tour if you're visiting Istanbul.

We had an incredible 2-day experience, starting with a 6:30 AM pickup from Istanbul. We traveled on a minibus (17 passengers in a 20-seater), with a 45-minute stop for coffee at a gas station about 2.5 hours into the journey. After another 2.5 hours, we arrived at our starting point, checked in, and had lunch before heading to Gallipoli around 12:30 PM.
While not far distance-wise, the Gallipoli tour lasted 3 hours, and offered a look at the many battlefields and cemeteries. It was a moving, especially for the Australians in our group. The highlight was definitely our guide, Chuck. He possessed incredible historical knowledge, balancing detailed history with independent time. He read the group well and added warm-hearted insights throughout.
We arrived back at the check-in point around 5 PM and took the ferry over to Asia, where we had from 5:30 PM until 12:30 PM the next day to explore on our own. Our hotel, the Artur, was better than expected and in a perfect location. The only minor improvement would be the breakfast, which was somewhat lackluster (though perhaps just cultural).
At 12:30 PM on the second day, we met our next guide for the tour of Troy. I loved his storytelling, like Chuck, he found the right balance and provided fascinating theories. I can best describe exploring Troy as being like visiting Pompeii and learning history through the excavations. This tour felt shorter but was still well worth it.
We left around 3:30 PM to catch the ferry back, boarded the bus to Istanbul, took a 30-minute break, and returned to our hotel around 8:30 PM. Overall, this was an excellent "off the beaten path" excursion. While you could do it on your own, the tour company handled every detail.

Our Tour Guide Borat was Awesome!! Outstanding historical knowledge & information. Great sense of humor. As an Aussie, my husband & I have dreamed of coming to Anzac Cove for years, and have seen the memorial services on tv, but that doesn’t prepare your for the overwhelming emotion of the battle graveyards. Would strongly recommend to any Aussie wanting a memorable experience.

Gallipolli tour was excellent and guide was fantastic
Troy visit was ok however the site has been neglected and needs to be supported with funds to ensure the history of the site is more memorable

Fully packed two day tour with very well organised hand offs and transfers. Very friendly staff with guest comfort at the centre of their hearts.
Just be aware that the Gallipoli trip does require frequent off and on to the tour bus as many interesting sites are close by.
The Troy trip has many steps though all very manageable but need to wear sensible shoes.

We did the 2 day Gallipoli & Troy tour from Istanbul! The entire tour was absolutely fantastic! We cannot speak more highly of the experience! Every detail, from hotel pick up to drop off was organised to perfection! All staff were amazing but we cannot speak more highly of our tour guide who was absolutely brilliant! He was very informative, was an exceptional story teller & made everyone in our group feel comfortable! And we struck gold when we had him for our 2nd day tour as well!
We would highly recommend this tour to anyone!!

This was an excellent tour. Very well organised - pick ups rests communication etc
Highlight was definitely our guides - Charlie for Gallipoli and Hassan for Troy. Both really knowledgeable and explained the background and history exceptionally well. Good fun too. Both sites are fascinating and well worth seeing.
We stayed overnight in Çanakkale which is a lovely town and our hotel - Arthur - was very nice. Great to have downtime there after an early start
Coach - minivan - was very comfortable between 10 and 14 of us typically in it so nice small groups. We were back in our hotel in Istanbul just after 9pm
I would highly recommend this tour

Haman and Charlie were great! This is a long drive but well worth the visit of both Gallipoli and Troy. Both guides were very informative and kind and the trips were well planned and paced. If possible I recommend adding the Troy Museum before the visit as it gives a ton of additional information and may of the artifacts are stored there.

Fantastic and really well organised tour! Our guide Charre from the Crowded House team was so knowledgeable with great facts and stories about both Gallipoli and the city of Troy. Our accommodation in Canakkale was in a great spot and the town is fun and vibrant with plenty of restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Would highly recommend the 2-day tour!

The hotel was the most memoriable ….. noisy and uncomfortable … we were placed on the lowest floor on the street side adjacent to the night clubs which raged until the early hours of the morning ( hard to sleep after a huge day of travel & tours) …. We also had to carry our luggage to and from the ferry ( not good ) so many other hotels in Canakkale you could use other than this cheap one star .
Having said that , our tours and our guides were 5 Star ! The guides were excellent , new their history and were also entertaining …. Also the drivers were excellent and safety conscious… the mini buses were modern , clean and well maintained.

Memorable experience visiting Gallipoli, very emotional, but a must do trip. Overnight stay to see Troy added to the experience. Pickup and drop off from our Hotel made everything so easy. Well informed guide with a balanced, empathetic account of events

The tour was very nice. We stopped at 9:30 am for “refreshments” on the way, however, we got to a little seaside town for lunch only about 1.5 hrs later. No one was hungry for lunch, a lot of food went to waste. The provided lunch was pretty good, I had the vegan selection.
The first afternoon was Gallipoi, which was rather fascinating being an American. We did not learn much about WWI in school, but going to this location was a unique experience. Many of our co-travelers were Australian or New Zealanders and we learned the significance of this location for them.
We returned to the seaside town to take the ferry to Cannakle. It is a “college” town and rather quaint. The tour put us up in a boutique hotel that was very nice. However, it was located next to a night club and we inadvertently spent the entire night at the rave. No sleep was had, I developed a migraine, and the thumping music did not help. Now, I know what the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay experienced with sleep deprivation and loud noises.
Breakfast was included and served at the restaurant next to the hotel. My vegan information was not relayed to that restaurant, so my choice was a roll and 5 olives. The rest of the plate was meat, eggs and cheese.
The tour continued to Troy, which was my highlight, having studied Greek Mythology. There is so much more to Troy than in the books. How it was built in 9 levels and most of those levels can still be seen to this day.

Thank you very much for your kind review 😊 We sign an annual contract with the hotels we us efor accomodation and at that time there was no bar next to the hotel. It was opened later. For the next season we won’t be using that hotel for the comfort of our travellers.
Best Wishes

The travel agency does a grest job in communicating details about pickup times and what the itinerary will be. Very professional drivers an tour guides with impressive knowledge. The area is really beautiful and was interesting. Both areas on this two day tour was amazing. It was

We had a wonderful time with Crowded House Gallipoli tours. We were very impressed with how well organised the tour was. Including pickup and drop off from Istanbul, stopping for lunch, the Troy and Gallipoli day tours and the accommodation booked for us. The tour guides, drivers and the staff at Crowded House Tours were kind, helpful and very knowledgeable. Worth every cent, I highly recommend!

Thr while tour was extremely professional. Both tour guides were so knowledgeable and passionate about their jobs. They both provided so much interesting information without getting bogged down with too much detail. The whole tour from the bus pick up, drop off's, lunch, ferry, tours, hotels was extremely organised and we felt safe and informed the whole time. Would highly recommend.

the tour of Gallipoli with guide Charie was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and has a good presentation technique. Highly recommend.
Troy was also good but we were an afternoon tour and hence did not get back to our hotel in Istanbul until after 10 PM.

Great trip. Learned so much and saw beautiful Turkey. The guides were great and the drivers worked very hard to make sure we reached our destinations one time.
Jackie_R, Apr 2024
It’s great that it includes 2 tours in one. The town is also worth exploring in your free time. The guides were lovely. It is very well organised. I thought I would enjoy Troy more, but surprisingly the Gallipoli part was actually more interesting. The hotel was nice too.
Karameh_K, Feb 2024
It was a great trip. The tour was organized, on time. The guides were friendly, knowledgeable and accomodating. I would definitely recommend going with this tour if you are interested or trying other tours with this company, Crowded House Tours.
DITOS_D, Nov 2023
Learned more about Gallipoli and it's influence on Turkey, Australia and New Zealand. The layers of history discovered in Troy is impressive.
Lynn_A, Oct 2023
Fascinating to learn about Gallipoli and Troy
Worth the long journey
Well organised with good guides
However it would have been better to have gone to Troy this morning so as we could also go to the museum
Plus loud music at the hotel until 1am wasn’t much fun after a long day
Patrickconor_C, Sept 2023
The gallipoli section was excellent and our guide Barak was very entertaining and educating. The hotel was good with central location and local breakfast. The trip to Troy was good , however we did not leave Canakkale until 1.00, and I would have preferred to leave earlier and visit the museum which is on site.
Response from Host, Sept 2023
Dear Patrick
Thank you for your kind review. We have 2 options for the 2 Days 1 Night Gallipoli and Troy tour. One is with the museum the other one is without. You booked the one without the museum. That is why the pick up time is around 13.00 pm. And the timings are explained in details in the tour itinerary and there are a couple of suggestions to fill the morning for the travellers who book this option. One of the suggestions is to visit the museum. For your future travels please make sure that you read the itineraries more carefully 😊

The guide at Gallipoli was great, knowledgeable and giving a Turkish perspective on the events. Troy was also a fascinating site visit, and a good add-on to Gallipoli. The less positive issues on the tour was some unclear communication, and bus drivers reading/texting while driving (rather fast). Being given "free time" until 1pm in Canakkale on second day was a surprise, and a couple of us took a half hour bus to Troy, before the guided tour of the site, so we could see the new Museum, as it's not included in the tour.
