Jan gave us an interesting overall tour of Amsterdam. We felt it was a touch haphazard but it’s possible we weren’t clear about our interests. That said we covered a lot of ground, along with a variety of interesting social topics. We enjoyed the conversations and hearing the viewpoint of a local.

Jan kindly took us as a very last-minute booking. He was very accommodating, flexible and willing to show us so many great parts of Amsterdam, including tasty snacks and a lovely antique shop! We got to know the city a little and we have a better idea of the places we want to see more in depth. A nice introduction to Amsterdam.

Strolling through the streets of Amsterdam was a very pleasant way to see and learn about a very old city. Jan our guide was extremely knowledgeable, well spoken and attentive to our needs. He presented the history of the city and country in a very interesting way. Really enjoyed our time with him.

Jan was an engaging and accommodating guide who tailored our tour to our time and interests. We arrived on our cruise ship 3-hours late and our original tour was canceled. I booked Jan with only 3-hours notice and he was simply amazing! Not only were we able to see all the beauty of Amsterdam, but he took us to a beautiful outdoor cafe for a coffee break and made sure we experienced a stroop waffle at a bakery that has been making them since 1898. Jan saved the day for us and gave us the best possible tour we could have hoped for!

Jan was the perfect guide. My wife and I wanted to see some of the highlights of Amsterdam (our first trip), but we also have some limited mobility issues (can't walk for miles in a city that relies on bikes and walking as primary modes of transportation). He talked us through options prior to our visit (very responsive to e-mails), and then he modified even further during the tour to make sure we got to see as much as we could, despite our limitations. Jan knew all of the shortcuts, and he was knowledgeable on the history of Amsterdam. We will take this tour again in the future.

Jan was a fantastic tour guide. It was a great way to spend an afternoon talking exchanging views and ideas. His knowledge is great. He is extremely personable as well. We started at VanGogh and ended at the Jewish memorial. In between we had fresh Stroop Waffel, a cappacino stop, sampled some cheese, took in the flower market, churches, the red light disctrict and more !!! If you got 3 hours in Amsterdam book Jan you will not be sorry !!

Very friendly local guide. He took us to interesting spots including a delicious cheese shop (my request) coffee stop and also the best stroopwaffle cafe (not the one advertised on tik tok! where all the tourists go) called Hans Egstorf. Also saw the holocaust memorial which was very moving. We had been to Anne Franks house and Rembrandt and Van Gogh so missed those out, which gave us more time for other places. We ended up at a restaurant of his recommendation (u can see our theme for the morning here in my review!) All in all a lovely morning stroll through Amsterdam with a really lovely knowledgable guide.

Jan did a great job showing us around Amsterdam while being accommodating to our group. If you have ever travelled with young children, you know flexibility is key and Jan did a wonderful job making sure we were able to see the highlights of Amsterdam with our 2 year old. Arunabha was a delightful guide through the streets and neighborhoods of Amsterdam. It was a nice blend of walking and sitting to keep the back pain from setting in, and the blend of history, culture and daily life experience in Amsterdam kept the tour rich with learning on different levels.

Jan was a very gentle host and took good care of us. He was helpfull and considerate, built in enough sightseeing but also room for nice terrasses and shops. He knew his way well in A'dam. Had nice anekdotes and we laughed a lot.

Our Amsterdam trip was bejweled with Jan's excellent guiding skills. He took his time to explain things in great detail and his empathy towards my fellow travellers in terms of their needs and stamina and a deep understanding of different cultures is what made the entire experience feel like a breath of fresh hair. Jan's sense of humour kept things light during the trip, his thoughtfulness and time management skills are to be appreciated. Overall a great and wholesome experience and I would definitely recommend!
