What are people saying about Vancouver Island

A fun activity to do when visiting Victoria.
If you want a short boat ride around the harbour for an affordable price, while also having a few brewskis. You get to meet people visiting Victoria from around the world and check some really cool restaurants and bars along the way. The tour guide was British ✅ and loved to join in on the fun 🥨. The included appetizers at each place were very tasty and a nice bonus. Would definitely do it again and bring family/friends.

Behind the scenes of Victoria BC
The walking trip with Asher was fabulous. He pointed out many things that I had not noticed during my walking trip around Victoria. He's a very jolly and personable fellow but kept the Fear Factor alive! ;-) I'll be looking more carefully as I'm walking today.

Great Ride
Our driver, Rob, was both fun and informative. He was truly a wealth of knowledge. We met outside the Empress and had the opportunity to pre-purchase our tickets to the garden, which was a nice feature. The double decker bus was clean and comfortable. The gardens are beautiful!

Wonderful Day Around Victoria and Butchart Gardens
We had a wonderful day with Alan as our guide. We went to the Butchart Gardens for a couple hours, and then Alan showed us some other fun places around Victoria. I feel like we got a really good overview of the city, suburbs, parks, and mountain views around Victoria. I would highly recommend that you try to get Alan as your guide - super nice, flexible and knowledgeable!

Great experience all around
Makes for a great half day activity! Laura and Tom were great guides with lots of info to share. (Tom I went to the fish store like you recommended, got the salmon and cod, 10/10). I went late May and we saw 3 Orcas, a humpback whale, sealions and porpoises, as well as pelagic cormorants! Was happy to have the partially covered boat as even with a big hoody and windbreaker it was still pretty cold, so it was nice to come inside for a bit. sunglasses and beanie instead of ballcap recommended. The company is both ecofriendly and contributes to funding school programs, ad based on my comparison with other companies has smaller group capacities. No nature is guaranteed, but if you take a 10 am tour instead of a 9am, you have the opportunity to get sighting reports from other tours to help better guide your own boat.

Well Balanced Excursion!
This is a great balanced excursion for families. A little walking, food tasting, and some history. Andy was friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and accommodating to all in a group tour of 12. The pacing was fantastic and everyone was literally able to enjoy a taste of Victoria. Highly recommend!

Fun Bites and Sights in Victoria
Our guide, Julie, was very knowledgeable about the areas we visited and shared a lot of interesting stories. The walking was pretty easy and the total distance walked was moderate. The food and drink samples at the Drake and Bard and Banker were excellent. We just wish we had more time at those locations to enjoy them as things were a bit rushed. Even the stop at the candy store was too quick. Overall. a good tour experience in Victoria!

Tour some of Victoria's downtown area while enjoying a variety of local food specialties.
Eric, our tour guide, has a lot to share on this local foodies tour of Victoria, including history and things to do and see. He is a wealth of Victoria information, familiar with the local shops and restaurants where we enjoyed interesting and tasty delights. including an unusual Korean specialty, a 'soft bar' with an amazing winning interior focusing on a variety of non alcoholic brews, soft drinks, and a focus on tea bricks (If you have read Lisa See's "The Tea Girl of Humingbird Lane" you will know this form of tea vs our lose leaf/teabags). We also enjoyed a chicken mole taco with 'grandmother's recipe', sweet treats at three locations (chocolates, macrons, and a pastry shop where we enjoyed Bourbon Pecan mini tarts). We did NOT leave hungry!

Must do experience!
The captain and naturalists are great and explain things really well/are very friendly. It can we cold/windy on the water even if it’s warm in the city so definitely bring layers (they have extras if needed too). Free hot drinks was lovely. Saw Orca mom and baby/2 others for a good 30 mins and a bald eagle on my trip.

May - Views on views
Viator was so easy to use and better cost compared to the actual site. Go early to beat the crowds and strong afternoon sun (no shade at the top). Beautiful views, got lucky with fantastic weather. Spent about an hour at the top soaking up the sun and admiring the views. Walked back to the welcome center on the trail through the trees; fun little hike - just be aware it’s longer than the treewalk, not paved/has loose gravel, and there are some inclines/declines. Didn’t have any treats or food, so can’t comment on that. Gift shop was cute.

Victoria By Wheelchair
Able to See Victoria by Wheelchair
Jay was fantastic! We couldn't have been more pleased. My husband is paralyzed from the waist down & cannot stand at all. We have to have a van with a ramp or lift. We were coming into Victoria by cruise ship. The ship did not offer any assessable excursions we could take. Very disappointing.
We found JayDeep. Had a van with a ramp, yeah!
He took us to Butchart Gardens and waited while we toured it. Then took us into Victoria, showing us China Town, stopping at Fan Tan Alley so we could stroll through it, The Empress Hotel & Parliament Buildings, Beacon Hill Park where we saw the tallest free standing totem, even had a live Eagle on top of it. He took our picture at every stop! Amazing! He was a wealth of knowledge about Victoria. You could tell he loved his city and enjoyed helping us get around town in a wheelchair. We are truly grateful. I will be recommending him to Wheels of the World, Assessable Travel and others. Thanks again Jay!

Whale Watching 10/10 no notes
I explored the Victoria area with skipper Gareth — we were able to see several groups of humpbacks and sea lions. We then had a gorgeous encounter with a solo orca. We were able to just coast with him along the shore in calm waters. Truly a bucket list experience! Gareth was an amazing guide — super knowledgeable and engaging with the group, with a passion for the wildlife.
