Do not hesitate to book this tour!

Had the best tour of our lives yesterday thanks to Bondabu. Our market tour day was packed with info, history, and some great food and drink stops along the way. Guide was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions, from street art, to history, to architecture. Would highly recommend this tour while in Mexico City, we'll remember it fondly always.

Tried a lot of really interesting and unique foods. We tried to go to the market on our own. Was a disaster, couldn't find anything. The tour was such a game changer. It really let us experience the market how locals would. Highly recommend.

The Only Way I Would Experience La Merced

I would leave more stars if I could. This was a top highlight of our trip and I would not go to the Mercado de La Merced without a guide. It's huge and beautifully chaotic and I would not know where to start on my own, what I shouldn't miss (or where to find it), what region different dishes or ingredients are from, the identity of produce that we don't see in the States, what's native and pre-conquest, the influences of the Spanish and Africans, or how to navigate food safety in the Market (and elsewhere). We would have been hopelessly lost. It was just my husband and me on our tour with Clara, a trained chef passionate about Mexican food and culture. We got to experience highlights of Mexican cuisine that we don't see in the States, and we learned so much from her about the food, history and culture. I would certainly not have tried insects without her! She helped me to buy ingredients to take home, gave me good tips on making tortillas, and inspired me to cook more Mexican dishes. She was a lovely person and we left feeling like we made a new friend.

Great tour, highly recommend

We had a really great time on this tour. The markets were both fascinating, and I wouldn't have felt comfortable going without a guide (not to mention would have gotten lost). I really enjoyed seeing all the different food stalls, particularly the dried spices and herbs in Sonoma market. We got to try crickets, which was very fun. The best part was our guide Gala, who knew a ton of history, fun facts about the markets and the city, and about Mexico City's art scene. We learned so much, and the time just flew by. A really unique look at the city and interesting history we wouldn't have learned anywhere else, highly recommend. Also, we needed to adjust our start time at the last minute, literally the night before the tour, and they were able to accommodate us, which was great.

This tour is a must!! Cesar was awesome!

Cesar was the best tour guide and our entire group enjoyed every minute of it! The tacos were amazing, the micheladas and beers were refreshing and Cesar was very knowledgeable. We would’ve never known where to go or what anything was if we didn’t have Cesar. Would definitely recommend!

Learning history and culture through food.

Nico was an excellent and knowledgeable tour guide. This is a must do experience for anyone who likes to learn about the culture and history of a place through food. There was plenty to eat, and you can be assured the company has done their homework in advance to know exactly which vendors to visit. I would not recommend this for folks traveling with children.
