Top of the World Experience

A must see when visiting Switzerland. Our group lives in mountainous regions of Montana, USA. So we are used to mountains and snow. But this experience is magical! The views are spectacular. The engineering to build the climb to the top is so impressive! We had a great guide and learned much. The only negative was the number of “influencers” that took the journey to the top in fancy outfits who then proceeded to ignore the no trespassing signs to pose for pictures for social media. Very rude. But it seems to be the world we live in. Would still recommend this tour to everyone!

Our guide Luis was terrific sharing the history of Lucerne and information of Switzerland in general. His knowledge of the city was fascinating and so helpful in educating us on the area. He has a wonderful way with people and engages you in dialogue to insure it is an interactive experience. It rained rather hard during a portion of our tour and he adapted well to minimize the disruption. We highly recommend!

Easy boarding,, beautiful boat to cruise on. Choice of indoor or outdoor seats, friendly staff, and beautiful scenery. One hour boat tour. Not a lot of information given during the cruise, but that’s OK, time to sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I highly recommend. We got there about 20 minutes early and were first in line to board.

Such a great day out, really good value for money. Highly recommend going to Mount First and doing the cliff top walk. We also did the hike out to the Glacier Canyon. It was a busy, very full and active day, we didn’t have any time to eat at Grindelwald as we did two activities. The icecream at Grindelwald was the best I e ever had!! Highly recommend this tour. Fantastic full day trip. Operator allowed to join in Lucerne and go back to Zurich and they stored our luggage on bus which was appreciated. Fantastic trip and easy to book. Do watch the weather forecasts though and try and time your trip for a clear day. Leader was vey helpful and entertaining.

Breathtaking Views

Make sure to wear walking shoes! Bring a light jacket as the top of the mountain can be chilly in the breeze. The boat cruise was lovely and had great views of the mountains and the houses on the lake. The views from the mountain of the lake and other Swiss alps were beautiful! Salma was a great guide and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable!

We were disappointed that...

We were disappointed that we were notified of our private tour cancellation 30 minutes prior to its scheduled start time. However, we were able to join the small group tour 15 minutes later. Lucerne is stunning! We visited many sites including 2 churches that were incredible. Our tour guide recommended other activities too. I highly recommend this tour.

A lovely day on Mount Rigi

Our tour guide Robert was great, guiding us through a lovely ferry ride to a charming cog wheel train ride to the top of the mountain where we experienced amazing views of Lake Lucerne and the surrounding countryside. Robert offered several options for activities, lunch and the return down. We chose to hike down, not a difficult hike. Pro tip, choose the path to Hotel Edelweiss Rigi and have lunch there, you’ll be glad you did. After lunch, we continued the hike to Kaltbad where we caught the cable car to Weggis, followed by a short ferry ride back to Lucerne. A lovely day!

Luis gave us a fabulous tour of many of Lucerne’s highlights combined with delicious chocolate, cheese and wine tastings. He was extremely friendly and knowledgable and shared some excellent recommendations and fun facts as only a local could. What a Day!

We did this tour on our own with no problems. We had to book our own train to get there and back. Getting off the train to begin catch Bus 1 going to Kierns across the street from Lucerne Railroad Station. When off that bus you see signs directing you to Pilatus Gondolas, a nice 1/4 mile walk. It’s worth what you will see. Everything else you will do is just a few steps away. Had a wonderful time.

Domenico was an amazing...

Domenico was an amazing tour guide. He was punctual, explained exactly what we would be seeing throughout the tour, stopped for any pictures we wanted to take, gave us lots of information about the Rigi and Lucerne areas of Switzerland, the list goes on and on. Definitely would recommend him to anyone visiting the Lucerne area!
