Private Tour is well worth the extra money
We chose a private tour for our party of four. We were in a very comfortable van and all four of us had good views. Although, we didn’t need it, because having a private tour allows you to control the trip. Our tour guide, Sparos, spoke wonderful English as a native of Crete and gave us so many interesting facts about the island, the cultures of Crete and personal experiences that he had growing up here. Stops at local spots that the guide frequents himself with his family added to the experience of the flavors of Crete. At Every stop we were allowed enough time to enjoy the exhibit, given instructions where to meet the guide and always where their was a restroom. The mountains were cool when we visited and some of our party did not bring a jacket- our guide supplied us with warm jackets!! I would recommend this private tour to small groups. It really added an extra touch of island to the experience and a lot of laughs, thanks to Sparos’ wonderful sense of humor!!!!

Curated food tour -local vibe
Magda was fantastic! She curated the tour to meet my food & beverage interest. We did a beautiful walk on the Venetian Walls around the city. A favorite part of the tour was going off the beaten path out of the touristy areas and meeting some of the locals highly recommend. She’s totally upbeat in a ton of fun.

Life and History tour
Omg, what a great experience. We told Spyros that we selected this tour because we wanted a small group experience with an experienced guide and he delivered — despite the torrential rainfall. We loved the olive oil production plant — so interesting to learn about the old and new techniques and taste this wonderful, locally sourced and produced staple. We experienced mountain driving in the rain (and never worried about our safety — these are roads that Spyros knows well). We had a lovely cup or coffee/tea at a local cafe and met the owner. Spyros spent summers in the town and knew everyone and opened his house to us (where we enjoyed yogurt and a the glass of rakia) while we learned more about life in a small mountain village. We decided not to do Zeus’ cave or lunch so that we could experience a beautiful family owned pottery shop that was so reasonably priced that we likely bought more pottery than we can safely get home to the US. We then headed to Knossos Palace which was amazing. I would strongly recommend this tour and the guide! Spyros was so knowledgeable about Crete history.

Kourtaliotiko Gorge
What an amazing tour! Demitri was attentive and caring. My wife and I are in our early 70’s and the hike was a little intense but doable, just needed to take it slow. Demitri understood and assisted us all the way. Just being able to view the island with an extremely knowledgeable guide made all the difference. Demitri made sure everyone had the best experience. He catered to all. One couple was newly married and adventurous, he made sure they had the best time as well. The beach and the stop in Spili were exceptional! Lunch was delicious and the rahki (don’t know if that is spelled correctly) especially the honey cinnamon was fantastic! We definitely highly recommend this tour!!!
