All Heraklion Tours & Excursions in 2026

We chose a private tour for our party of four. We were in a very comfortable van and all four of us had good views. Although, we didn’t need it, because having a private tour allows you to control the trip. Our tour guide, Sparos, spoke wonderful English as a native of Crete and gave us so many interesting facts about the island, the cultures of Crete and personal experiences that he had growing up here. Stops at local spots that the guide frequents himself with his family added to the experience of the flavors of Crete. At Every stop we were allowed enough time to enjoy the exhibit, given instructions where to meet the guide and always where their was a restroom. The mountains were cool when we visited and some of our party did not bring a jacket- our guide supplied us with warm jackets!! I would recommend this private tour to small groups. It really added an extra touch of island to the experience and a lot of laughs, thanks to Sparos’ wonderful sense of humor!!!!

Our travel guide, Apostolos, is one of the best guides we have met in all the traveling we have done. He was informative, entertaining and knew his history. He answered all our questions and left us with a better understanding of Crete’s history. He kept us laughing the entire excursion. We wish him the best.

Our Private Full-Day East Crete Tour from Heraklion was one of the highlights of our trip to Crete! My husband, our friends, and I had such an incredible day exploring East Crete, and the experience was even better than we could have imagined. From the very beginning, everything was seamless and well organized. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and attentive. They made sure we were comfortable throughout the entire day and took the time to share the history, culture, and stories behind each place we visited. It truly felt like we were experiencing Crete with someone who genuinely loved the island and wanted us to fall in love with it too. Having a private tour made the experience so much more personal. We never felt rushed, and there was plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful scenery, take pictures, ask questions, and simply take in everything around us. Traveling with our friends made it even more fun, and we came away with so many wonderful memories and plenty of laughs. What stood out the most was how well we were taken care of. The attention to detail, hospitality, and genuine care throughout the day made us feel comfortable and welcomed from start to finish. If you’re visiting Crete, I highly recommend this tour! It was an unforgettable day filled with beautiful places, fascinating history, great company, and memories that my husband, our friends, and I will talk about for years to come. We had an absolutely fantastic time exploring Crete with George! From start to finish, the tour arrangement was excellent. George was incredibly thoughtful and proactive, adjusting our itinerary perfectly based on the predicted weather forecast so we could enjoy the sights comfortably (and safely dodge the light rain at the end of the day!). He timed our stops brilliantly, making it feel like an off-peak visit. We were able to explore the Palace of Knossos and the beautiful streets of Heraklion at our own pace without feeling rushed or overwhelmed by crowds. George gave us a profound and fascinating taste of the history of Greece and Crete—spanning from 3500 BC and the Minoans all the way through the Byzantine and Venetian periods. The itinerary was packed with local gems. After walking through the Venetian Harbour and seeing Palace of Knossos , we visited the Politakis Olive Mill for a wonderful tasting of Cretan "liquid gold." A major highlight was visiting the Ploumis Pottery Workshop in Thrapsano, where Me even got to try making pottery hands-on, and we learned about the clever Cup of Pythagoras! We ended the sightseeing at the peaceful Agarathos Monastery before a scenic drive back. Throughout the entire day, George was a highly responsive, safe, and accommodating driver. If you want a tour that perfectly balances deep historical knowledge, local culture, and personalized care, we cannot recommend George enough. Thank you for a wonderful day!

My wife and I booked this snorkeling experience and had an excellent time! Basil, Andrea and team were very knowledgeable and personable. We had so much fun using the DPV scooters and were able to see so much. On our tour, Andrea was very informed about the local marine life and history and was able to teach us so much about the Souda bay and the surrounding Mediterranean Sea. Both my wife and I were coincidentally stung by jellyfish and Basil/Andrea were able to quickly help take care of us, which we appreciated. We could not recommend this experience more!

This boat trip experience was 10/10. The night before we received a message to say we were upgraded to a larger boat at no extra cost with the same itinerary included and this did not disappoint. We were able to lay at the front and there was room for all to enjoy without feeling at all crowded. The ride out was a little choppy but really fun and enjoyable. We the stopped at Dia for the perfect amount of time which I believe was around 2.5-3 hours. The drinks were great lots of choice with beer, wine and soft drinks, the crew later made us some really tasty cocktails that also kept flowing. The activities were fun and there was so much to do. There was not many other boats in the bay at the same time so it felt very picturesque and so much room to enjoy the activities. We were cooked our meals and there was other snacks to enjoy this was a great meal too absolutely zero complaints. The crew were fantastic and really helpful. I felt very relaxed and safe, with also enjoying some fun activities, great food and drinks taking in beautiful scenery. 100% recommend. Great value for money.

We had an amazing day! The boat is very clean and comfortable, the staff onboard are amazing and very helpful! The travel time to the island is around 1 hour with amazing views all the way. Once you reach the island you get to swim in beautiful clear water and use snorkeling equipment and paddle boards. The staff have life jackets available if needed but the water is quite salty so you naturally float very easily. The food we was served was prawns with pasta, Greek salad with bread and fruit after. It was absolutely delicious and fresh! Could not recommend this trip any higher!

There were so many fun activities included for all ages, from stand-up paddleboards and snorkeling to the inflatable slide. The food was also absolutely delicious, and everything was very well organised. A huge thank you to Daniel and Joanna, who went above and beyond with their communication, organisation, and genuine willingness to help. I was especially grateful after I dropped my phone into 12 metres of water. They immediately jumped into action, helped recover it, and somehow managed to get it back for me, something I’ll never forget! The only thing to keep in mind is that if you’re prone to seasickness, the ride can get a little bumpy depending on the wind conditions. Overall, an amazing experience with a fantastic crew.
