What are people saying about Loch Lomond

Overall good experience...
Overall good experience but disappointed arrived late to Sterling Castle and last guided tour had already started. Costumed characters were also packing up and leaving early. We did get to walk in and around the castle which was amazing. Kelpies and Loch Lomond excellent.

Didn’t really spend time...
Didn’t really spend time at Loch Lomond as advertised. But it was very rainy. I don’t know if that made a difference.

Energetic and informative roadtrip
Our guide and driver Jack was A1. The coach we travelled in was clean and comfortable with a great playlist to capture the rhythm and vibe of Scotland. We visited picture perfect Lough Lomond, Glencoe and Loch Ness in a day of seasons - bring your umbrella. The rain added to the serenity of the Highlands and returned safely to Glasgow! Jack was witty, knowledgeable and passionately Caledonian!

Loved the Scottish Highlands!
We enjoyed this excursion on 8/20/2026. We boarded conveniently at our cruise terminal. The bus was clean and very comfortable. Our tour guide, Gerry, was great! Very amusing as well as educational. He shared all sorts of interesting information and history along the way. We had sufficient time at each stop and thoroughly enjoyed the sights in this beautiful country.

Too much driving!
It is a lot of time in the van and not much time at the actual sites. The driver and co guide were very funny and informative about the areas visited, covering history and personal anecdotes. We learned a lot about Scotland and Scottish culture. We spent very little time at Sterling Castle and no time at all in the town of Sterling, which was disappointing.

It was a long day but worthwhile seeing the highlands and going out on the boat in search of the Logh ness
It’s a long day - bring snacks and wear comfy clothes as you will be on the bus for a good chunk of the day

Definitely a must when visiting Scotland
Paul was our guide for the day and he was so awesome!!! He was very informative. My best friend and I had a great day exploring beautiful Scotland!!! The only thing I would change is the directions for the meet up spot. It says the bus station and does not give clear directions as to where in the bus station to meet. Overall great day!!!

Grand tour with one caveat
Rachael was delightful and interactive. Good driver. Twas a spectacular tour ; my only disappointment was not exploring various points on Loch Lomond. Consiideing its size of 23 miles, we stopped to behold its splendor only one spot. I’d have preferred additional views. Thank you.

Sample of Scotland from Glasgow.
Great tour. Glasgow John was top-notch. He made this a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this tour if you don't want to commit to a full day.

Sterling Castle was great, Loch Lomond was meh
The Sterling Castle portion of the trip is great! There was ample time to see the whole castle and grounds. The Loch Lomond portion was meh. Quite boring and not worth the expense.
The shining star of the entire experience was our driver Alastair!! He was entertaining with his quick wit and sense of humor, as well as very knowledgeable about the sites and history, all while making us feel safe the entire trip!

Stirling castle was...
Stirling castle was definitely worth the trip .suggest listening to the first guided tour to allow time to wander at the end. The lunch break was in a lovely town & the lentil soup was delicious. The cruise was peaceful and thank goodness not too windy! Great tour & information by Martin…no dilly dallying around!!

Wheelchair- and stroller-friendly trails can be found along the shores of Loch Lomond.
In winter, the hills and mountains become icy and snowy, and should only be tackled by those with sufficient mountaineering experience.
Scotland is known for its notoriously changeable weather; bring layers and be prepared for sunshine one minute and rain the next.
Bring insect repellent to fend off midges (gnats).
