Fantastic tour - a must see!!
We went to Giverny in April when all the flowers were in bloom and it was just gorgeous. The tour was very well done – the bus was beautiful and clean and the tour guides were amazing and gave us all kinds of really interesting information on the ride there. We enjoyed it greatly. My only advice is that if you spend a lot of time in the house in gardens, there’s not much time to get food so getting a Takeaway sandwich or something is probably best.

Day Trip with lunch...hit and miss
This day trip was a full and inclusive activity. We enjoyed the trip to Giverny to see Monet's house and gardens, and the Versailles palace. Lunch was not really satisfying, and was the lowlight of the day.

A wonderful afternoon in Giverny!
A wonderful afternoon in Giverny! We had glorious Spring weather and Monet’s garden was in ecstatic bloom! Our driver/guide, Frederic, was helpful and knowledgeable, and really went out of his way to make sure we were well oriented and well taken care of. The background video shown during the drive was very informative. Being picked up in Paris and driven to Giverny and back in a minivan made the whole experience effortless and easy. Highly recommended!

Good way to see Giverny
This is an easy way to see Giverny from Paris. I have American friends who were here at the same time as I was and they took public transit, which requires multiple transfers. The guide, Crystal, was friendly and excellent. The round trip was 5 hours. It's 90 minutes each way, leaving 2 hours in Giverny. If you can afford it, I recommend the live guided tour. It's not that much extra and worth it.

People walking between green plants at Giverny during daytime, Paris
  • A Giverny tour is ideal for art enthusiasts, especially impressionism fans.

  • The journey to Giverny, along the banks of the Seine River and through the sunflower fields of Normandy, is almost as good as the destination.

  • There are no ATMs or currency exchange bureaus in the village, so be sure to bring cash.

  • Although hotels are available, the village's small size means availability is limited, so most people visit on day trips from Paris. Make sure to book in advance if you plan on staying overnight.

  • Giverny and Monet's Garden are partly accessible for wheelchair users although Monet's House is not.
