The temple is a great way to learn about the history of Mexico City. Omar, the guide, was great. He was very knowledgeable of everything that we encountered and had interesting stories that brought everything to life. He even helped us find a place to eat afterwards. The tour begins outdoors among the ruins of Templo Mayor, where visitors can explore the remains of the sacred precinct, including the foundations of the great double pyramid and the House of the Eagles, where elite warriors once prepared for battle. Omar expertly guided us through these remarkable ruins, explaining their significance and helping us visualize the city that once stood there. The experience then continues inside the museum, where the history observed outdoors is expanded and brought into even sharper focus. Omar carefully highlighted the most important artifacts, explained recent discoveries, and provided fascinating details about the objects on display. Yannick was early, knowledgeable and insisted on waiting until our Uber arrived to ensure our safety back to the hotel. We wouldn't have been able to enjoy the museum or the ruins as well without all the history and context provided by Yannick. I really appreciated him inquiring how much information we wanted to ensure we weren't lost since we don't speak Spanish, but also not overwhelmed with too many details. He also gave local recommendations based on our likes and dislikes.
