Top Bilbao Day Trips

Javier was our guide. He was very talkative, energetic, and passionate about the areas on the tour. This was a bilingual tour with Javier switching back and forth between Spanish and English. This was not a small tour but filled with a regular bus-size load of people. You have to be close to Javier to hear what he is saying. So we were not issued hearing devices to hear him better. I was on a tour which had such devices which had made a world of difference. With such a device, you can pause to take a picture and still not miss a what the guide says. There is lots of walking. I enjoyed this tour and would recommend it.

Our tour of Biarritz, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, and San Sebastián was absolutely incredible—stunning coastal scenery, rich culture, amazing food, and a perfect mix of relaxation and exploration. Highly recommended for couples looking to experience the very best of the Basque region.

What a day out ! Excellent tour guide Stephan...very comfortable transport. No rushing here and there. Lots of nice stops...with excellent local history and knowledge and great recomendation for lunch etc. provided by stephan. Would absolutely recommend to anyone with a spare day to fill. José picked us up on time and had an excellent itinerary mapped out for the day. He gave us the option to choose our own lunch spot which was great. We had an excellent time. Were I to come back to the area I would definitely book something with him again.

This tour was more than expected. Especially since we had such a great tour guide, Endika ( I hope I spelled that correctly) To get this tour from a born and raised Basque native was priceless. The history and culture told by Endika was perfect. Be prepared for a hike. We were fortunate to get a cloudy, drizzly day since for days prior it had been over 100 degrees in Gaztelugatxe. Make sure to carry some water. You will be told of this by your tour guide. Our guide also took us around the town of Guernika. As the sun broke through the clouds for a moment, Endi gave us a history lesson of the town. On my vacation through out Spain, I visited many places on tours but this one really left a lasting impression. To learn of the struggles and fight and history of the Basque region and its people was both romantic and brought on empathy as well. I am happy I saved to visit this region last; to keep the memory of the culture, the food, and best of all, the kindness of the people fresh in my mind and heart. The perfect introduction to the beautiful wine area of Rioja. The more traditional Marques de Riscal with an amazing premium hotel on site. The new pretenders of Javier San Pedro Otega, and the truly magnificent building that is Ysios. A simple Basque lunch of more fabulous wine and pinxtos, and you have the most perfect day in warm sunshine. I’m sure you’re all looking and thinking that this is expensive - just do it if you are a true lover of wine and you’ll not be disappointed!

Usoa, our most knowledgeable and friendly guide, conducted a delightful, interesting and “fulfilling” Basque-themed culinary tour through beautiful Bilbao. In the course of visiting several cafes for food and drink, we had a walking tour of the vibrant Bilbao city center and Old Town, while Usoa spoke of the local history, culture and language of Bilbao and the Basque people. This was a rewarding experience.

Pascu was excellent. Very knowledgeable and some comforting to make us feel so comfortable and interactive. He lead us around the museum and ga e us history and let us enjoy the pieces. We never felt rushed. It was perfect trip around the museum. Would highly recommend Pascu for you tour needs.
