Worth the day trip
Be prepared for a long day. Tour guide was great and knowledgable. Unfortunately the day we went it was foggy the entire day so by the time we got to Zaanse Schans for the boat tour it was so cold and you really could not see anything. A little surprised that there were no lights on the boat for safety purposes. Even though we had bad weather I would still do the tour.

Great guide, beautiful sites designed for tourists’ cash
The tour guide Eric was fantastic. Be aware Zaanse schans is set up to move tourists through quickly. The cheese “demonstration “ lasted 2-3 minutes and the machine was not functioning. The wooden shoe demonstration was using modern, not traditional tools. Workers stood in the back to start the clapping and move groups of tourists out for the next group

Flowers and Windmills
Great experience visiting Keukenhof and Zaanse Schans Windmills! There are plenty of good food options amongst the gorgeous gardens! If possible I would highly recommend visiting Keukenhof in April! Though there were still tons of beautiful flowers in May!!!

Zaanse Schans
The Zaanse Schans was very interesting.and we learnt a lot about Dutch history. We saw how the basic cloggs were made. There is a nice collection to see at the place. There was a short explanation about cheese. Our guide Caroline took us through the windmill tour. I think that the place itself could have more films to show about the whole process of clogg making and cheese. The village is very pretty to walk around and the whole experience was fun even though it was por8ng with rain
