Faro Story Spot is an immersive, multimedia museum that takes you on a journey from antiquity to the present day. As well as tracing the history of the Algarve, the experience allows you to get acquainted with the flora and fauna of Ria Formosa Natural Park nearby. You can add on a tasting at the end to enjoy the flavors of southern Portugal.
This sturdy fortress has stood watch at the mouth of the River Arade for hundreds of years, guarding the city of Portimão as it evolved from prosperous port to tourist center. Though the pirates and invaders it was built to fend off are long gone, the structure remains intact, and offers spectacular views of the marina and beach.
