Another Great Tour arranged through Viator
We have used Viator in the past and felt very comfortable in booking all our excursions with them for our current cruise. This excursion was 6 hours long and our tour guide Graham gave us a full 6 hours of information and insight into the people, history and geography of the area.
One could not have asked for more.

Great trip - recommend
Had a great whale trip, our rib boat was only half full so we were spaced out so everyone always had a great view. The captain and guide were knowledgeable and clearly loved what they do. We saw some harbour porpoise, some minke whale from further afield and a humpback whale. We spent a great amount of time with the humpback, getting up close but without disturbing it and making it uncomfortable- unlike another company who were out there and it felt like they were chasing it which was really sad as the whale then kept deep diving to get away.
This is a beautiful location and great trip that was a highlight of our trip around Iceland. Definitely recommend.

Exceptional day
This was just an outstanding day covering the best of North Iceland in a small group. Siggi was an excellent, engaging and knowledgeable guide explaining everything from folklore to geology, considerate and helpful and an excellent safe driver to boot. I couldn't fault any of this day, best tour I've ever done anywhere. Simply magnificent 👌

Brilliant value whale tour with friendly crew and amazing wildlife
We did the Whale Watching from Downtown Akureyri tour and honestly couldn’t fault it. It was a great price, the staff were genuinely friendly, and the whole trip felt really well looked after from start to finish.
We were lucky and saw loads of wildlife, and what I really appreciated was that they ran the tour over the allotted time because we kept spotting more on the way back, it didn’t feel rushed at all. They also offered free hot drinks throughout, which was perfect for staying warm out on the water.
A really nice touch was that the spotter took photos and they offered free copies of the images, which we weren’t expecting. Plus, being so close to the waterline and the whales made the experience feel even more special.
Would definitely go again and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Akureyri.

A really fun day trip,...
A really fun day trip, offering history, storytelling and geology all in one! You'll get to learn about volcanoes and lava formations in Iceland. Overall the itinerary is perfect opportunity to learn about how Iceland was formed, and its impact it had on the culture.

Great Tour with fantastic hosts.
It was a bit hard to find the bus, better signage would be helpful. Once we were on the tour the driver and guide were very personable and knowledgeable about the area. They were super excited to shate their wonderful country with us. The tour went on schedule with plenty of time for pictures and some exploration.

A great shore excursion in Akureyri!
Our cruise ship was delayed a day, but Fox Adventure was able to reschedule and contacted everyone with the new info. Our guide, Johanna, picked us up at the pier, and we enjoyed a beautiful day at Godafoss waterfall, Myvatn Lake and nearby craters, Dimmuborgir lava formations, Grjotagja cave and tectonic plates, Gjaldskylda geothermal area, and finally...some relaxation time in the thermal baths. Johanna was friendly and informative, and was more than happy to answer questions and take pictures for people. A truly enjoyable day!

Great Tour!
Had a wonderful experience with Saga Travel and Hilmar, our guide. The bus ride was smooth, taking us through a very long tunnel going to the falls and through the mountain pass on the way back. Pathways to and around the falls are easy; very manageable. Saga Travel has a connection to this quaint Hotel there, so coffee and a Nordic pastry were a pleasant surprise. Great morning, beautiful falls! We highly recommend this tour!!

Excellent tour of the...
Excellent tour of the waterfall, the turf homes and the spa. For us, it was just the right amount of time at each, well maybe a little longer at the turf homes would have been better. We had the option of being dropped off in the center of town, rather than at the boat, which saved us some walking. Highly recommended

Jon - an amazing and informative guide
Jon was an amazing and informative tour guide - loved his knowledge and stories. Overall fun trip, wished we had a bit more time at the Christmas House but Jon gave the allotted time given folks who returned late to the bus at the previous stop. My recommendation is that if someone is late, especially more than 10 minutes, leave them as to not impact the others on the trip!

Vic is great, I learned a lot about Iceland from the local perspective and I loved her personality and youth. Our bus was like new and very high end with large windows, plenty of overhead space, bathroom, etc. I liked the schedule (not too long): see the waterfall, two hours at the bath then a quick stop at Lake Myvatn. There were 3 ships at Akureyri on the day we visited, so you never break away from all the people, but we still loved the experience. They give you the sandwich and bottle of water after the bath and before Lake Myvatn, if you read previous reviews and wondered. Also, there is a cute cafe at the baths if you finish early and want something more, but we spent the entire two hours soaking.

Akureyri sits in Iceland’s northern fjords, making it the ideal starting point to explore what’s known as the Diamond Circle, which includes Lake Mývatn, formed by a volcanic eruption, the waterfalls of Goðafoss and Dettifoss, and the whale-watching town of Húsavík. With its hot springs, bubbling mud pools, and lava formations, this region will fascinate even the most seasoned traveler. Akureyri day trips ensure you can experience these diverse landscapes with ease, thanks to organized transport and guides sharing history and folklore along the way.
