Insects make up 75% of all animal species that have been named and described by scientists, and this exhibition of specimens highlights critters from the park's vast collections. The exhibit was created by world-renowned entomologist Dr. Richard Whitten, who has been collecting insects for decades.
The video Jewels of the Rain Forest plays several times per day, and features insects from all over Costa Rica — with many of them found at Selvatura Park.

The habitat itself was nice and well maintained. It was really cool to see sloths closer than you ever would in the wild, usually they’re way up at the very top of tall trees and almost impossible to see clearly.
That said, the price feels too high for what you get. The visit is only about 30 minutes, and the cost is comparable to a FULL DAY admission ticket to an entire zoo. After the 30 min is up, you definitely feel like you paid too much.
Overall, it was interesting and the habitat seemed good, but the value for the length of the visit didn’t quite match the cost.
